True ;) with the following caveats...

1.  He does not fly hard at all.

2.  Some thing still needed replacement/fixing (tail servo holder, tail belt pulley etc).

Typically, around 40A would be good.  A bit higher is OK.

In terms of minimum that can be used, take a look at the peak load of the motor, and add about 20%.

Status Update: No Update

Status still shows as in transit on HK Postal Website. No letter from customs office as well, so giving it the benefit of doubt and will wait until Monday to see if anything comes or I will walk into Bangalore GPO. Since I had an experience earlier, it should not be that tough :)

Just to share last experience, it was back in 2007 when I ordered 12 pieces of Bluetooth Stereo Headphones (Jabra BT620s) and the package cost was over INR 28,000. The seller was not stupid but I was.. he pasted an invoice on the package and I got the letter from Bangalore GPO :). First experience and I got it out with the help of Gandhi Ji + some tax (whatever was applicable). Still they were way too cheap than what I was getting in India and hey I kept just 2 and sold the rest with margin over my cost for per piece :)

Awright.. got some more information. They got a new system to track EMS Speed Post Items.. and it was quick to enter India through Mumbai and then also very quick in departing from Mumbai to Bangalore... but looks like Bangalore folks did not bother to update the site and I must visit GPO to cross verify.

Have patience man, wait for a week, it will get updated, dont get urself into hassle by visiting the Post office. From what I am seeing since a month is that they are updating the web tracking as promptly as possible.

Got an update for you all... checked with Bangalore Customs office and its lying with them. I will try to visit in the evening and get it released. Wish me luck :)

It went smooth so far, I reached at 5:39pm and as expected the officer had left already. I gave all the documents required, they should release it tomorrow if the officer does not have any objection or they should call me. So I am expecting I should get it to my local post office somewhere by next week.

Good news... It has cleared the customs today at 11:33am IST :)

11/1/2010 11:33:00 AM    INDIA    BANGALORE SUB FGN POST    Send item to domestic location (Inb)

I checked with local post office but it has not arrived/processed yet. They say by tomorrow I should receive it.

@Rajath... no much documents, the parcel has value declared of $38 so they need to see a proof that it is really $38 worth. I gave them invoice and declared that it is a gift item.

Here is a quick update that I am sure you all have been waiting for including me :)
I got the package with me and except little dent on canopy all looks intact and in perfect condition.

I ordered it on 22nd October, and it shipped the very same day.. reached Bangalore on 23-24th Oct. and I walk into Customs office on last Friday (29th Oct.) and I have it in my hand today on 2nd Nov. Total 7 working days and I got it :) :) Super excited about it.

Awesome! let me know when i can come and have a look. Why are the pics not visible???

findvikas

the space is just reserved... I am uploading the pics to my server as they are 1mb+ in size. I haven't slept since I came from office in the morning and had been running around to get it in my hands... I will catch some sleep after uploading the pics and then maybe if I wake up on time then you can come in the evening or tomorrow noon.. :)

rajathv8

Ya sure. Just let me know :) Hey why dont you resize and post it here itself? 20 pics will take 2mb and itl be convenient for viewers and yourself (less uploading).

findvikas

I prefer viewers to see high resolution image... I set the thumbnail to 800x600 size so should be easy on them as well...

findvikas

I ordered some extra stuff to save the cost of shipping... like extra blades... extra gyro for my plane project... medium strength thread lock, multi utility tool.. turn out to be very good and heavy in weight. ESC is big as well... gonna be fun. :)

Congrats and all the best Vikas! Keeping my fingers crossed. Hope my deal goes off as smooth. Paid last night.

Actually this method makes this thread unusable to many.  It takes a while to load even on my high speed connection. The net effect is that your efforts will end up backfiring.  800x600 is more than enough for depict any amount of detail.  And this method of embedding causes all images to be loaded in full initially itself, unlike the other one where the user gets to expand pictures that are of interest to them.

The second aspect is that there are too many pictures that are just too similar to one another, which adds no value to the thread.  Combined with the size, I have to say this is a bad idea.

First time excitement leads to such detailed posts, but they tend to work the other way around :) I would suggest that the number of images be cut down, and the sizes adjusted for broader viewership !

Only 1 battery? And CF blades for a first timer?  ???

BTW All the best for your builds.  Nice canopy there.

After seeing 500, I am loosing interest in 450s.

findvikas

Thanks... CF blades were just extra piece... I have regular blades to begin with and CF I ordered to save some shipping.
