The HK450GT PRO tail servo does not go on the boom. You have to make a simple mod to get the DS480 in the rudder servo tray. Make a servo mounting adapter to fit the tray such that the servo horn reaches the linkage.

Thanks Ashwin for the "TIP", Can you post some pics for the said MOD...   :help:

Also like to know what type of grease to be used for thrust bearings ?

There is something strange about your session, it seems to be allocating more memory than others.  What browser and operating system are you using ?

I used an the align servo tray with the align servo, so I haven't done this mod yet. But do plan to in the future.

I use this grease.

I have a cheaper alternative. Its Jackly 31 in 1 electron screwdriver set. costs  :Rs:130, bought it locally. It contains hex 1.5, 2.0, 2.5, 3, 4. The holder is magnetic, hence it holds the screw. Comes handy in a small lantern style container. The only drawback of this is its length. It can reach to depth of 1 inch.

azhaguvel

As it has happened to me my piece of advice is, dont use this. You will damage the screws.

akash

that,s too bad. does these hex drivers strip the hex screws? :headscratch: stripping of screws is because of bad screws, which dont have required hardness isn't it?

azhaguvel

Yes the screws are not that much good. But if you have a hex which fits exactly then there will be no issues. Dont try these cheap ones. Atleast go for the hobbyking hex drivers.

Instead of DR, for beginner setups I would reduce the aileron and elevator throws using the swash mix menu. I would also add some amount of expo (-ve for Futaba).

Also, to slow down the piro rate (ie, how fast the heli rotates via tail when rudder is applied), I reduce the ATV/EPA (endpoint or travel adjust) to 75 or 80 for the rudder channel.  Note that ATV/EPA is NOT the same as DR.

Having said all this, there are many ways to skin the cat !
