That was only one of the suggestions. And as I mentioned, it really helps to have someone experienced who can guide you with these models. You can do it on your own, but it is quite a bit of work (actually quite a bit of learning, which can be a whole lot of fun). Parts availability is a big factor.
I remember Chintan mentioning that there are people flying regularly at some place in Vadodara, that may be a starting place for you.
The Honeybee models are another choice.
sure anwarbhai, so can you please suggest a particular model or kit I should go for ? I had made a glider long time back when i was in college, but with helis i am a newbie....let me drop a message to Chintan as well....I thought first step would be to procure a new bird and start practicing...
Dhruv...
Anwarbhai,
Can you please check the following link, paylessflymore has a Honeybee King 2 available for around 10K....

Please advice...
Dhruv
also..I have Chintan's contact details now, so I'll be talking to him as well....
I have no personal experience with the Honeybee stuff, I will let people who have used those comment :)
I do remember people saying they are a good platform to start with, hopefully the same people will elaborate in this thread.
If it is 450 Class Electric Heli, one of the most practical option is HK-450, which is a TRex-450 clone.
There are loads and loads (arguably most abundantly available) of replacement/upgrade parts for Trex-450 helis on the net with varying price points. I am not against HoneyBee/Titan, but the support Trex-450 is just awesome.
You may select any 450 Heli from HK (Hobby King), suiting your budget :
http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbycity/store/uh_listCategoriesAndProducts.asp?idCategory=320
But HK-450 SE V2 is the most popular with first timers:
http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbycity/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=10811&Product_Name=HK450_CCPM_3D_Helicopter_Kit_(Align_T-rex_Compat.)_Ver._2
This would cost you $28 + $18 shipping + customs.
This is just the bare Heli airframe. You have to buy electronics separately. This would include Motor, ESC, Servos, Gyro, LiPo /Charger etc. This would cost you any where between $100-$150+
Then you have to invest on a Radio system, which is a risky thing to order from Post. You have option of Airtronics Radio from RCdhamaka.com , Futaba/Spektrum from indiahobbies.com and JR fron Rotor.
You can search for all these 'key words' in this forum to know about more.
There is a beautiful build thread by Vinay and Gaurav , covering various aspect of building, tuning, flying and repairing HK-450 Heli on this forum

Welcome to RC and Heli world. All the best.
thanks ujjawaana, I can definitely do that, I saw a fully assembled 4CH Honeybee king V2 on esky-helis.com, they are asking 99.99 USD + 64 USD shipping....should I go for that or should I assemble one on my own ? they also have a 6CH beauty for $109+$64 shipping, is that worth it ? and what is the customs duty generally on these helis...?
I went through the threads; I have decided to build one myself, I guess thatz the way i'll also have a better understanding of my bird.
I am gonna order the HK-450 CCPM 3D Helicopter Kit (Align T-rex Compat.) from HobbyKing....now I want the list of what all goes in, and what specifications I should buy....Please help...
Brushless Outrunner Motor & Pinion Gear - where to buy ? what to buy ?
Servos - where to buy ? what to buy ?
Gyro - where to buy ? what to buy ?
Receiver - where to buy ? what to buy ?
ESC - where to buy ? what to buy ?
Lipoly Battery - where to buy ? what to buy ?
Then comes the radio; mann its a costly thing, but I want suggestions, something which is good and not too costly....
