Title: Need help with my volitation 3ch rc helicoptor
Post by: varunaindra on January 04, 2011, 02:18:52 PM
Hi,
I have just taken to the R/C hobby.I have started with a volitation 3ch helicoptor.I broke the balance bar in the 3rd flight.I was not able to get the exact balance bar,but got a similar one.Now the heli flies but iam not able to stabilise it(it is very difficult to get it to fly straight,it keeps swinging from left to right.)is this because of the balance rod or have i damaged something else.
Please help cause it is no more fun flying it.

Welcome to RC India :)

Helis are quite picky about balancing, which in turn is derived from the use of correct parts.  Even a bent bar can cause significant instability, so if you substituted with something of wrong length, weight etc... chances are that you will run into trouble.

These toy grade helis are usually only good till the first crash, after that you suffer for lack of parts, and the stability is gone.  Plus, it is very hard to troubleshoot this remotely (especially on a question like "or have I damaged something else", which can only be answered by YOU :( )

I would suggest meeting up with some local heli fliers, and let them take a look at this.  Moving to a hobby grade heli is also a must, if you are serious about this hobby for the long term.
