I meant "source" as in "a reliable place to buy" ;)  Of course customs etc are all issues wherever you are, and that is a separate topic.

Thanks for the review/comparison threads.

my usual place to purchase kits is amainhobbies, helidirect and fast lad performance.... i felt amain are a bit cheaper in price

but the best place for me is runryder and helifreak... i can bargain, get what i need (both new in pack and also used).. and most important me is I CAN ASK THE GUYS ON THE FORUM TO SEND THE HELI DISMANTLED AND IN 2-3 PARCELS... this will help me in getting through the heli vide the customs..

The problem with runryder, rcuniverse etc is that the vast majority do not seem to ship outside the US.

absolutely... for this i have opened a DHL pickup address in Ohio in the US... the guys there ship this to my courier address and in turn they ship it to me here... and this is much faster than USPS and also is cheaper compared to UPS, Fedex and others... i think aramex and dhl has this facility for guys like us in the middle east... you should check this up too if this is available in doha...

Yes, I use Aramex Shop and Ship myself (http://www.aramex.com/shopandship/default.aspx). Not sure if such services are available to India though.  It is much cheaper than regular courier charges from Fedex/UPS etc, and a better/faster service with full tracking as compared to USPS offerings.  Works from US and UK too.

Most hardcore RC folks in Qatar are using this.  The DHL service is available here, but Aramex has the early bird advantage, and the word of mouth publicity that comes with it.

Forgot to mention, when I brought this subject up locally, some other local fliers mentioned that they use http://www.myus.com also, especially in their home countries (non-US).

And the DHL service is : http://www.dhleasyshop.com/

The Aramex rates are also similar (a bit cheaper than DHL).  May be MyUS is more for people who do not have either of these.
