Yep, I am big fan of Tareq too  :)  We have some of his flying posted here already.

About a year ago, we ran out of certain RC stuff here in Qatar, it was he who helped us get it from the UAE.

I am stunned. Never thought a human could fly with that much precision and agility!

PankajC

What control!!! Don't have words or icons to describe the feat.....

BTW, in terms of beauty of 3D flights, both

1. Alan Szabo Jr : http://www.rcindia.org/chatter-zone/your-favorite-online-rc-video/msg1769/#msg1769

and

2. Lukas Riva

are one of a kind.

While Tareq is probably the best at reflexes, the others do a better variety of distinct maneuvers.

Hats off to tareq...

Looks like a Missile in full control...

Someday, i want to fly like that....

PankajC

Question,
Was Tareeq's crash part of the act or it just happened?

My guess is that it must have happened, as opposed to killing a heli for crowd entertainment alone. After all, rebuilding is a pain. While the act is not deliberate, it does get the crowd going; so the flyers take it in a positive sense of having provided additional fun.

Most 3D flyers like to end their routines with a magnificent auto-rotation (inverted, with some 3D moves thrown in while falling).

For me it looks like an insect caught in a spider web!   ;D ;D

I know heli lovers would want to  :violent: me. But honestly, it looks very much the same.. I know it is very difficult to perform moves like that and all my praises go to the wonderful pilot, Tareq.

Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder  :P  It is all about perspective  ;)  ;D

Kidding aside, there are many pattern moves amongst what seems to be chaos, and I am under the impression that you are a lover of pattern flying  :)

Ya. I love both pattern flying and 3D flying but not the chaotic moves. Flying should be like smooth music with appropriate transitions and rythmn.

In Chennai, there are quite a few pattern flyers. Its worth mentioning Mr. Sakamoto, a Japanese genteleman, who frequents the field. Man! his flying is awesome. The pattern moves are so crip and preceise that you feel as if his plane is flying on rails!

These guys can do that also.  See this :

There are many such "heli 3D to music" videos on Youtube which you may enjoy, this is just a sample.  They purposefully tone down the "aggression" for these :)

In pretty much all big heli events, "flying to music" is a separate category, so that people like Ismail can also enjoy heli flying ;D

But these "chaotic" moves are supposed to be a "step-up" in their own opinion  ;)

BTW, any volunteers from Chennai who can post some video of Sakamoto "san" flying ? I guess with his blessings, of course!

Ismail -  Can you post of the best "pattern" flights that you have seen on Youtube ?

Just want to get a feel for the kind of flying that people like you crave for.  Also, we will get to see what type of planes they use.

Since you asked, here is one of the best 3D flying that I have seen on youtube. Good rhythm with fast/slow moves are balanced properly. Awesome rolling harriers. Note that the pilot is doing rolling harrier turn with rolls changing directions. Also, the slow roll at the end of the video is just fantastic!

I have seen a lot more of 3D and pattern flying but couldn't locate them. Will post if I find em.

3D was not what I was after.  I was wondering what you were considering as "pattern maneuvers".  Actually I wonder how you would distinguish between them.

Also, I had expected a long tailed pattern plane ;)

That might require some digging in youtube. Not many pattern flying videos there.

Let me see if I could get some videos of Black Magic. I have seen it somewhere but could n't recollect where. Looking at videos it may seem that pattern flying is easier than 3D but its not

More Tareq.  The main blades hit the ground twice between 5:40 and 6:00.

Ismail - Is this the kind of pattern flying that you were mentioning earlier ? My brother just forwarded me this link.

Yes, thatz one of the good videos. Although it has some 3d moves mixed and the plane is not fast enough. Most pattern planes are fast and the movements are quick and precise. I have seen a 120 size pattern flying in youtube but couldn't locate it. :(

This model seems to fly in slow motion  8)

You should get pattern videos if you search for F3A.
