just thought why not have a thread(or sticky?) for heli pics where all of us can share pics of our helis :-) ..its not just flying that i love..watching (rather staring) helis too makes me happy...sorry guys if such a thread is already there..coming here after a long time.
here are two of my birds..Henseleit TDR and Logo 600se..
Wow the first pic of the heli is . giving a gesture of a man standing on its beautiful legs with confident {:)}. My imagination :giggle:
cool and stunning machines..
Wow you got a Henseleit TDR ... Congrats!!
Both are beautiful :hatsoff:
Nice machines...
Please do post some flight videos.
Cool!!! (:|~ (:|~ (:|~
WOW what a nice helis man. They are really stunning. And at the same time they must be very costly tooo. Never seen such a beauties. You are really lucky to having them in ur show case. I really enjoy watching / flying the helis. Any way how much they costed for you ?
Just started with this Hobby and finding it very hard to control the Heli even in RF :)
But you have given this hobby a whole new meaning my friend, now i can use it as a model in my second hobby ;)
Will take and post some photographs soon here ...
Thanks guys..TDR is certainly one of the best machines when it comes to quality..a true german engineering..parts are like jewellery and very precisely machined..one of the owners of this machine reported first maintenance after TWO YEARS of absolute abuse (approx 600 flights)..not many helis can deliver that..and design is cleverly simple..i hate machines doing simple things with thousands of parts when the same can be done with a lot fewer..looks can be a subjective discussion..initially i did not like its looks(in pictures) but it gradually grew upon me..and when i got this..it was indeed worth a wow. Very racy look... Before ordering, I met jan henseleit in person at 3d masters in venlo, The Netherlands. He is true to his work and so are his machines. I immediately booked it... waited for 5 months until i received it.. Its costly? Yes it is. But i hate to buy a machine and then spend a fortune throwing upgrade parts in it to make it work nice..at the end you pay almost an equal amount but with an extra hassle...ultra cheap helis are not safe at all.. Look at the stress forces that heli needs to go through..i do not want to risk my or anyone else's life..i know in our country situation is little difficult from cost and awareness perspective..but..i STRONGLY desire that things get better in our country for rc hobby so that prices come down to make it affordable for every one..i have seen tareq alsaadi, jamie robertson, bert kammerer...most of them..flying in person..they make you realize the learning and fun potential that this hobby has..rc heli flying is an amazing hobby and we all must try to give it as much as we can in whatever way possible..not just in forums..people who do not know about rc do not know about these forums.. Kind of effort that people like Anwar put into this hobby is absolutely amazing..i really admire his work
Lets keep this thing rolling guys..bring more pictures..learn not just about your machine but others' too :-) i will add more pictures when i get home...on a business trip right now
few pics :)
the following video is a crap from content perspective as neither me nor my friend was serious today...we were in fun mood..he was playing with my DSLR and shot everything but the heli or the flight ;D ..most of the times he was only searching for the heli or the action...never had any clue..but it was his first time so acceptable...crazy commentary and lots of distraction from people who were passing by spiced it up further :giggle: ..sorry guys..will try to get a better video next time i get to the field..

you have a good choice.. from logo to tdr with kontronix etc... all of them top of the line... :hatsoff:
sujju
Thx Sujju..i am passionate about helicopters real and rc both...any flying machine in general..may be i was born with this 'flying' bug ;D ..i take this hobby seriously..i wait and save money to get a better product..sometimes cutting costs in other things that i like..also i am trying to make my flying better..as much as time allows..lets see where i reach..
Friends, i think there are lot of heli freaks here on this forum..can we please keep this thread flowing with pics or videos? Any size..any heli is good..450, 500, 600..700..800...real one :-)
Just wanted to put in a recent photograph i took of my Walkera 1#A, its the first shot so nothing great. Will take another shot soon and post it here.

No that was the ant wire from my old Tx,Rx now I use 2.4ghz Spektrum
Few pics of my MSH Protos... had set this up quite sometime back. Hope to see others posting their models here..

Canopy is great! Protos has a very unique sound..i think because of single belt..one of my friends has this heli..i assume that it can be a good beater machine as parts seem to be cheaper and it appears easier to fix..i do not have a first hand experience though...Sujju, is there anything that you do not like in this machine?
its a fantastic heli... very silent due to the unique direct belt drive system and very light in weight... yes is damn to easy to fix the parts...
Installing the belt require some skill if not an extra hand... I have 2 of these machine converted to FBL and very satisfied with their performance...
canopy is CanoMod

These are mine..
The first one is a CH 53 Jolly Green on a HK frame with Trex Mechanics and 5 blade head with a quad tail and no stab system,
The second is a HK 250 in a paper Agusta body, made completely from scratch.
The third is a HK with mixed mechanics and a quad head, awaiting darthdrk Blackhawk fuselage.
My only heli - a 450
I make so frequent changes, that it never looks the same.
Have mounted the main receiver under the frame. Found it to be best place since when i placed on the side, I used to get glitches - which i could never solve.
Satellite is under the boom block.
Also the tail control assembly is from Tarot (pitch linkage) and ALZRC (Dual Push Tail Rotor Control), now the slop is minimal
My New Blade MCPX ;D,

Protos killed a TDR :giggle:
I have seen that.. I think on helifreak... It is a very funny pic :-) ...by the way i killed my tdr recently..i was trying to flip it at waist height and it met mother earth.. it was just the first flight of the day and i did not even bother to warm up..took it in the air and in 2 seconds just flipped it while heli faced me sideways to me...i was too tired after office and did not have my full focus..so dumbthumbed it....i have now repaired it...will post pics of my crash
EDIT: just noticed that you already mentioned helifreak :-)
OMG, thats really sad news :( :(
@Sujju, is that a GY401 on Protos?
@Raja_mastana, which tail servo is that? Gyro looks like a quark clear case.
That was a INO Lab 261 HB, not using it anymore though.
Currently using MKS 8910A+
After seeing the big motor, am getting tempted to ask which one. Oh BTW I have the same configuration X 2 which you have, except that I am using cheaper 10$ cyclics and the main difference is mine are still in the kit ;)
Raja_mastana , i see that you are using a satillite receiver? any benefits from that?
Quote from: vinay on August 13, 2012, 07:00:48 PM
@Sujju, is that a GY401 on Protos?
yeah.. its a gy401... the old and faithful...
sujju
Motor is Turnigy H2223 3500KV
BTW those $10 cyclic servos are very good (if you are referring to the HK-933MG). Have used those in the past.
The satellite is a standard part of the JR/Spektrum DSX7 package. I dont think the original receiver works without the satellite.
The OrangeRx does work though.
Better to be safe

I use only satellite receivers without main receivers but that is the case with FBL systems like vbar which support this. I use two of them for redundancy. Satellites are complete receivers. They lack channel parsing and spit data in serial format. I found this while configuring these for a microcontroller hobby project. Advantage is cleaner installation with significantly less wiring and without any danger of signal loss. These do not occupy excessive space as well. In flybar machines, satellites with main receiver provide redundancy and there is no harm in doing so. However, i do not think that it is absolutely necessary to use satellites with main receiver but i have not tried this.
1)Solo pro 180 3G - Free gift from HK during last christmas
2)HK 500 CMT with entire power train from Align. Quark gold. MKS bls980. Turnigy Typhoon 500 on castle ICE 75 ESC on 11T pinion.

3b)2 more on the bed in the kit are HK 450 PROs TT. Will be upgrading the entire power train to align. 10$ Henge 933.
Planning to run one on 4S on the 2836 3700 KV Turnigy motor with 60 AMP castle ice lite and 9T pinion on 4S 35 C 1800 nanotech. MKS 8910 and Quark Gold
Another heli would be on the 2836 3700 motor on 12T Pinion and plush 40. Futaba tail and quark black.
Pinions got from ready heli I guess for all the above as nobody sold the sizes I wanted.
Still Loads of work on the Helis itself. Dont know when I will finish the planes :(

I own a FXD A68688 which needs repair. I've ordered the needed parts for it. In future I'm looking at buying a new entry level 3d helicopter so need some guidance.
