Dear friends,
My friend has a Lead Honor 1108 helic with 40 MHz transmitter. The transmitter is not working and he is stuck with this heli, the heli is working fine. Is it possible to change the receiver pcb board in that heli and couple it with a 2.4 GHZ trasmitter that I can buy seperately. Such changing of boards, is it possible among helicopters? This model is quite a big one...size is about 68 x 42 x 75 cms. I tried for the spare parts but not available in india and costly too.
Thanks

Its a 'Toy' Helicopter, not a Hobby grade one, using a 2.4 GHz system is possible but then you would need to purchase 3 ESCs ,a Coaxial mixer and a TX/RX combo. You will invest much more than what you must have bought the heli for.
Best thing to do is go to a electronics shop and ask the person to see what is wrong.

Even if it is 'Big' it still remains in the Toy category.

Yes, it is a toy grade...but I thought maybe there will be a receiver board for 2.4 ghz and then I will have sockets to plug in the motors etc... connections in that. Actually no need of 2.4 ghz, even 27 mhz or 40 mhz will do. The point is I want to get it working by using any sepertaly available parts. Can you think of any other solutions for 27 mhz or 40 mhz?

Thanks for your answer. I am new to Rc hobby.
