Free Flight

Started dabbling with capacitor powered free flight models. It is done for both indoors or outdoors.

Very special thanks to Glidiator on the RC India group for coaching me on it.

Cost effective and loads of fun.

Recommend you give it a try.

Free Flight and me seem to be on a nice coaching exchange programme. He is mentoring me on outdoor contest grade catapult model - Hoosier- and I have given some inputs in capacitor powered models.
Such interactions are what makes the Aeromodelling fraternity tick.

You guys are real masters of the secret art of trimming your models to fly just right...

I'm still trying to figure out how to get a catapult glider to transition at the top of a straight up climb, or to get over 20 seconds from a rubber powered model!

And Sanjayrai55 made ten times! as many new models as I did, during Covid...

@KK

I'm far away from being a master. Like everything else in life - just being at it and reading up and watching the numerous YouTube videos gives a good base to understand what is required to get good durations. But all that theory needs to be put in practice.
I too was stuck at the 20 / 30 sec mark for quite some time. Was then mentored on the Hippocketaeronautics forum by Bill Gowen ( an old master with a record in the A6 class) over a 4 month back and forth on the forum - till it suddenly all came together. Still - the next challenge is to hit the double digit duration mark.
Incidentally are you aware of the developments in the AEROSPORT scene in India. A draft National Air Sport  Policy has been published and solicits suggestions people involved in the various Aerosports.
Can send the draft document on WhatsApp.
