This was my first flying toy back in the year 1989 please see attached picture.
I have spent one complete summer flying this glider; this is what got me interested in flying. I remember it gliding long distances in the field near my home in Nagpur. I had completely forgotten about it; the memories surfaced recently when i took my easystar to fly in the same field and now this memory is the farthest I can remember of my childhood days.
So I was searching for this glider and finally found some details.
It's called Flying Hawk - Catapult Glider, Wing Span 21".
Manufactured by B.J.Plastic Moulders

I called the landline and reached a lady. When enquired about the glider she said she'll ask her husband to give me a call about it.
Nice Find. Thx for sharing
Got a call from Mr. Italia, turns out he is owner of the company. I explained him my case and guess what!! He said he is gonna send me a Flying Hawk free of cost :)
Oooo.. I used to have the hawk back in my school days. Its a fantastic glider. In fact, I have a foldable delta wing design based on this.
The orginal folding wing catapult glider was designed by late legendry Jim Walker. If some of you recognize the name Interceptor sold by IHC/Aurora you are right it is one and same, which Auroroa was producing under permission/licence from Mr Walker.

Yes its a beautiful glider, can wait to see it. First thing i'm gonna do is show it to my dad.
And finally i'm getting a rough idea of what you have in mind for the delta you are planning :)

Thanks for the info, this is one legend i didn't knew about. Did some reading about his folding wing glider, but it doesn't seem to have any resemblance to the hawk.
Sun LIke,
Take the original, change some shapes, but keep the basic concept as same, and one can start marketing it as thier own design. :giggle:
You are right! Seems like he was the first to think of a folding wing for a catapult glider. BTW found some nice articles just by searching Jim Walker and Interceptor. Reading this right now http://www.combatreform.org/flyingapc.htm , dont know how i reached here but its pretty entertaining :)

I am still waiting eagerly for your ezyglider pro!....when is the maiden flight man?

yar i never got the catapult glider, its not in production any more :( just forgot to update it here.
about the easy glider, I could assemble it in an hour.. but still not sure how to do a removable tail.
Was anyone able to find this anymore? I have recently remembered it from my childhood. Even just to post some pictures would help me to build a new one in carbon!
