so far I had seen lots of good designs ,even Scratch built Ornithopter very creative.
but have anyone Scratch built gyrocopters
it seems very less people take interest in this simple and very beautiful machine
it gone out of rc fling list.
Here is a link in this forum on scratch built gyro.. have a look

@rahulroy31
very great effort {:)}
:goodjob: :iagree:
could your model do short landing or vertical landings
sir how you think about fitting controls at rotor.
Short landings and TO .. yes. It has quite different characteristics but quite stable
A single rotor has its own advantages and disadvantages. the disadvantage is that a single rotor spinning in one direction has a precession effect of a gyroscope, the input given will have a lag of 1/4 of a cycle... that is if the rotor tilts back the effect will be a roll to right ... depending on the direction of spin.
That is the reason i had opted for twin rotor design, which spin in opposite direction. This cancels out the gyroscopic effect. A two gyro design, therefore, does not have a control mechanism on the rotor mast, this reduces lot of complexity. The controls are just elevator, rudder and of course throttle, and even with this able to get full control authority.
counter torque with two rotar :iagree:
