Yes I have several times. Good stuff if you get the original. Will upload some snaps.
1. 31st December 2009 at the Manas National Park.
2. The ballon was almost b.v.r. within 2 and a half minutes of the launch.
2. The wife and I launching on our daughter's 16th Birthday. 10th Oct. 2010. The Balloon was signed by 30 of her friends.
3. Up, up and away................!
Wow kewl.. {:)}
Would order some from DE..
Do you get this back ? ;D
I guess its best fly them at night.. whats your say..
Have seen the "Sky Lantern" one in our RC field couple of times. I was worried it would ignite something on the ground, but it seems to be designed to burn out after a little while.
It's called fanush in bengali. I have one dista (24 sheets) still kept in bookshelf. have flown several times during the immersion of Devi Jagadhatri in GuptiParah. The tissue can withstand more temperature than normal tissue. Generally coloured white.
Solar Hot Air baloon is another interesting thing made with black coloured carrybag.
The Solar heat absorbed and makes the hot Air. Initially Solar Irradiation is concentrated using some reflector panel made of 20 micron reflecting foil in some cases.
interesting.Have you made one?(I am thinking you might have)If you have,can we see some pictures?
They were launching these at the boat festival in Goa.. They launched so many that I lost count.. Check out the other pics here.. http://www.rcindia.org/chatter-zone/goa-boat-festival-tripurari-poornima/
EDIT: In the second pic you can see the ballons kept on the ground on the left.
Black sausage shaped solar hot air balloons used to be sold on the footpaths of Chowringhee in Kolkata. Those were big, about 4 or 5 feet long. Kalyan, are they available anymore? I would love to get some.
Is it possible to make a RC hot air ballon, ;) controling the flame knob with a servo or something like that.
