I am building a ornithopter but I am stuck with mechanism. Can anyone please help me out ??

The thing is I can't get a fix on gears. I have planned for 1.2mtr wingspan. I am trying to go for 5hz frequency with a 3500kV motor. I am thinking to use a readuction gear ration of 24:1. Is it correct ?? Design is based on kestrel orni

Hai annant, Gear mechanism is the most difficult and complex part in an orni...
Hiw many stages of reduction are you planning to... And to achive 5Hz frequency you may be needing 2 stage reduction...

Thank you for replying. Two stage reduction ! Okay. Any suggestion with gear ratios. I mean can you give me an idea of which set of gears to use with which motor ?

Planning to make an orni.. browsed it on google but it ws not upto the mark...  ??? ??? ??? :( someone plz suggest me about the gear mechanism :hatsoff:. n whether shud i make it or it s available on any website.  waitin for reply....

i am new to this hobby. i had already made a quadcopter and cessna 172. now planning to make an ornithopter. i browsed it on net but did not got proper ans. i am confused with flapping mechanism. plz suggest me how to make it.
