Anwar Sir,

Robotics is a very interesting subject involving all the branches of engineering. Starting from a "robotic arm" to "fuel meter" of a bike comes under robotics. A lot innovative projects can be done in this field.

I would like to give an example: See if you ask a monkey to bring the ladder, he will obey you and won't bother to see a man falling down from it. The same thing you ask a person he will first request the man on the ladder to get down and then he will pick the ladder. That is IQ.

Robotics deals with machines having IQ.

In India all the robotic stores sell the remote control toys in the name of Robotics, nothing new or innovative, just the same products everywhere. The person selling has least idea about his products. No query, or conversation just doing good business.

So, I request you to add a new Category/ Group "ROBOTICS" in our Forum.

Maharana Sir - Please see our earlier discussion on this.

I am not sure Robotics can be considered a part of an RC forum.  I am open to suggestions though.  There are forums dedicated to that, is what I felt earlier.

We do post news and interesting items about robotics in the past and continue to do so.  I have done so multiple times.  I am not sure if we should dedicate a board to it, or just put it under "Chatter Zone" or "Boats, Kites, Trains and All Others".  Creating a new board takes about 5 seconds, the suitability of it is the issue :headscratch:

Having said all this, we would love to hear and see anything you are doing in that area !

I do agree with Anwar. Robotics is kind of different discipline to model aircrafts/Car/Boats, though all require similar technicality, creativity and commitment. There are so many other areas like Electronics, HAM Radio etc which have some weak links to Aeromodeling but may be not good idea generalize wiht R/C Planes.

There are people here in the forum with myriad interests, which are sometimes orthogonal. All keep in touch with the respective communities for the pursuit og the hobby. Like I stroll around Photography/Trekking forums, thought lot lesser than R/C these days.

There is an Indian Robotics community like RCI/IRC for Aeromodeling. Do venture, you would get local help and guidance and you could also help other country men:

Edit: Anwar, the color scheme of the logo of the above site quite resembles RCI! to the extend that one may think its RCI sister concern!!
