Hi All,

Started working on Cessna 172 model. It is scratch built and plans are downloaded from outerzone.co.uk. Printed on A4 size paper and started building.  It is not flying model but just for my collection.

I will work on the wings on this weekend and internal detailing like seats and controls etc.

Ask questions or you will never get the answers.

I started working on wing. Initially I used .5 mm styrene sheet and heat gun to shape the wing. When I applied CA glue on the edge where styrene was curved it cracked. So finally decided to use galvanized aluminium sheet instead as it was easy to fold and thin as well. It worked well. It was bit of a challenge gluing the metal as wing use to open up few times. I used Araldite and masking tapes to wrap it.

Finally wings are almost completed... Also some more details like doors etc. I used heatgun to give wings its shape. Discarded wings made up of aluminium sheet as they were not up to the mark.

It looks great!

Finally done with flaps and ailerons. I used ThumpsUp Can sheet for detailing..

Hi Shantanu,
Very nicely done. I have come back to aero modelling after 41 years. One of my interest was static scale models. Choose a good colour scheme to add to your good effort. Please post a pix once it is complete.
