@razzer yea thats the micro jst, i have provided female connector with its pins if you look closely. You just have to solder wires to them.

@arun bro you are right, that was my plan but i knew this would come up. hence i was forced to add those connectors in the kit too. If you see the RCG thread the cost mentioned includes motors controller and battery only.

@aniket i guess thats what sratch build is all about 'keeping it simple' ;)

Soldering will be a good idea but i have provided the necessary connectors for you to use it.

dear satya,
got the kit yesterday. assembled kit and the total weight comes to 37grms with battery.

It is not climbing up. Verified the connection and CC/CCW configs...

If i off load the battery weight is climbing.. Is it my weight in higher side?...

satyagupta

37 Grams is good, did you fully charged the battery? Share some images build logs :)

Dear satya,
Thanks for the reply.

Will post the image once reached my home.
Do you have spare motors available with you?. need to order it.

In my last try yesterday night i have accidentally pulled off the wires making one of the motors useless.
(opened the motor and tried soldering it but not working in full load)

arun.sreelakam

Shivela.. my quad weighs 32gms and climbing good.. still trying reduce the weight for good performance.. recharge the lipo it will climb up..
Make sure all motors are mounted at an angle 90degrees..

Thanks Arun,

Will get some help from you once i posted the pictures...in the evening...

satyagupta

@shivela Yea I have few motors, props and something new :D for sale. Will soon add it.

@arun very good point mentioned, motors need to be mounted at 90 deg angle. The guys in RCG have made a 60 CM quad using this kit and it weighs 27.5Grams w/battery :headscratch: :headscratch:

How they do it man? their quads are also mostly under 900 grams mine always goes more than 900 grams :banghead: :banghead:

They use gorilla glue, which is supposed to be much lighter than hot melt glue and for the motor mounts, they use epoxy and paper..
It is the pervading law of all things organic and inorganic,
Of all things physical and metaphysical,
Of all things human and all things super-human,
Of all true manifestations of the head,
Of the heart, of the soul,
That the life is recognizable in its expression,
That form ever follows function. This is the law.

satyagupta

Do we get gorilla glue here? whats its name?

Dear Satya,

I have used the Fewikwik only for the X arms and 4cmx 4cm balsa square board at the center.A bit of 5 min epoxy for strength.
Used 4 small sketch pen caps as motor holders and used 5 min epoxy for sticking it in the end of X arms.
Total time took 15 mins to complete.

I am waiting for my quad to up and running. Then will try out Coro (triangle shaped) to built X arms. Hope even Coro is fine for the center square.

satyagupta

Cool :) balsa is good actually i have heard that its very light weight. Do share image or build log. very good idea with the sketch pen caps. I have order some motor holders also (will be added for sale soon) so many guys who has problem find a way to fix the motor they can use that.

@satyagupta can these motors be put in a motor mount with a large gear and used to swing a larger prop? like on the other micro quads online.... ?
