Guys here is my New diy quad using HX 552 control board from QUADKOPTERS.COM And the 720 micro motors..

Frame: 300mm(motor to motor)
Motors : 720 from quadkopters
fc : HX552 from quadkopters
Motor mount : sketch pen body
center plate: 2mm coro sandwiched
Weight : 40gms without camera  8-) 8-)

First of all this is a great control board very stable and very much controllable..
And about the motors they are Very powerfull lifting the 40gms in less than 30% throttle..
Yaw is a bit slow.. but i guess it can be solved easily... This is quick and dirty build..
Will do a Build log in couple of days..

Thanks Bilal, Will try the settings in my Tx & do changes if any necessary.
Also, Please mention me by name. No 'Sir' Please...... :)

@Arun, I am lucky to have got the FC board with male & female connectors. Hence no soldering business. Else I am very comfortable with soldering.
I will any ways check for any soldering bridges on the board if in case it as come by default. I see the variation in the speed when I try to increase the throttle.
I believe MKS also has same issue as mine.
Mean while yesterday I tried doing the motor realignment. For first time quad flue for 3ft height & hit the wall due to which one of my motor holder broke.
So thinking of some more rugged motor holder, will try out some thing to night & let you know the feedback. Thank you very much for your suggestions.
BTW, your new quad looks awesome... {:)}  {:)}
You are really a quad guru!!

After Arun trying that 300mm build with the new motors and FC i am very tempted to try to build 400mm or 450mm. will give it a try this weekend.

@Arun i have few questions:

1. How do you manage to keep the motors upright at 90 degree?? any tips cos mine is the orientation issue always.
2. How do you manage to keep the vibrations away from the board? i noticed that the mini quads had small rubber at the board mounts.
3. Last and final what was the AUW of you 300mm with camera and without.

Thanks

Satya bhai I just used  protractors to make it perfect 90degree then fix it with super glue..
Just put 2 layers of foam tape under the fc and cut of the projected parts, now fix it in the center plate.

Auw without camera was 42gms( mentioned 40 first but added some more tape and glue now)
With camera its 50-51 grms

And one more thing it done flip and roll nicely(I didn't forgot to record the video)will upload soon
And very much crash resistant,  torture testing also done while flipping...;D;D

Satya mine with 716 motors some thing wrong with motor's or board. With new set of props its flying alright at 50% throttle for 1 min then it comes to ground slowly Inspite of full throttle. Then if you give it a break for a min then again it flies for a min. This I am able to do 3+ times  before battery dies. AUW is just 29 gms with 350mah.

I tried reducing wt to 25gms by replacing with a 150mah battery. Now it flies easily for 1.5 mins then again its back to same. Then after a break for a min it flies again and same for three times.

Since its doing same symptoms at 25gms also I have doubt its some thing is wrong with motors or battery. Any remedies.

satyagupta

I have noticed this couple of times with my mini too, but sometimes it happens and sometimes does not. I always think that battery is drained and i simply charge it again. But never really thought a lot about it. :(

Arun what do you think about this?

May be the motor driver ICs gets hot at constant throttle run for too long...... remedy can be the correct motor rating, control board and weight of quad.

sundaram

Yes Motors are definitely getting hot. Not the board.

arun.sreelakam

That's something fishy.. I have tried 3 types of motors the one had,  the 716 and 720 not et occurred such a problem yet..
???
The little one is flying for almost 4-5 min without any problem.. and the only problem I was havung sometimes is that the motors getting slow down suddenly and the board getting unbound... I rectified the problem by decreasing the e.point values of pitch and roll in the tx to 70-80% dunno whether they are related or not but the problem just vanished away...;D

But sundaram sir these tiny motors getting hot are normal... coz I can't even touch mine after 4-5 min flying.. still working good almost 50 flights..;D

Let me try reducing end points. Will update

cheluvaraj

Got the kit some time back.

Wanted to check if this can take little higher capacity battery and connected with 750mah (http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=20386)

There was a spark and little smoke from Board. immediately I disconnected. then Again I connected with the batter it came with.
Its binds the Tx but motors are not responding.

Does this board will not support little high capacity battery?

Please let me know.

thanks
cheluvaraj

Oppps, 350mah - 400mah(board gets very very hot) is max for these boards
