hiiiii alll......... :hatsoff: :hatsoff:   here's my version of satyagupta's DIY quadcopter......... this is my first quadcopter... never build or flown any quad before... ;D ;D   took one hour to complete the total build and fly it. since i got all the bamboo sticks as pieces so i used thick straws to build the frame and a gear from a 3.5ch heli as the base plate. motor to motor length 12cm and all over flying weight is 24grams.... its flying smooth and stedy.. no vibrations no drifting... within 40% to 50% throttle it takes off the ground... its very enjoying flying it...    ;D ;D
so i named it "BEE" ........... :giggle: :giggle:
here are some pics of my BEE......  video coming soon......   :hatsoff: :hatsoff:

Dear satya,

Can you please list down the sapre motors in your shop?... I am waiting ....

I did a lot of digging last evening and found lot of information.

The motor to motor size of the for this kit frame should be less than 15cm for it to work. The motors that come along with the kit has RPM of around 18000 - 22000 which is good for a quad which is 15cm motor to motor or less.

For quad size 15cm - 25cm motors will be different. I will soon get then as spares you can buy and try with them. Actually the motors that i had previously were the high RPM motors but the only down side was the shaft size. it was 0.7mm which would need some glue-ing to do with the props for it to work but i want to get motors which is useable right out of box.

@Shivela products added please check :)

@VC sir that was what i wanted. Stupid supplier did a mess of the whole order :banghead: :banghead:

@Bilal bhai what is your motor to motor distance? try to bring it down to 15CM or less. (to be precise if its around 12cm then it would be great)

I would get the high RPM motors soon but i would do a good research after getting them. I have also got some very nice motor holders if you are finding it hard to create holders for motor you can use them (image attached)

FYI spares for sale soon will be added :

Motors
PROPS
V939 board (very limited stock)

you are right satyagupta... my first trial was with a 25cm frame but it denied to leave the ground but now with a 12cm frame it flies smooth and perfect.....

Satya bhai,
noted down your suggestion....the motor to motor distance of my quad is 155mm precisely.....so that can be a problem too....will sort it out then tell you.

P.S.: I am so damn jealous of the guys who were ably to fly there quads in first attempt....lucky guys.......am practically glue to this thing since yesterday and still it refuses to fly

bilal bhai i dissected left over straws and wrapped it around the motors and used feviquick to join that to the arms.....   bilal bhai dont get dishearted even my mind got blasted while making this quad since i have never build or flown quad before... any doubt you can ask me.......

Build log for a 10 mins frame.

Motor to motor distance less than 12 CM.

Time taken to complete: Less than 10 mins

Step1: Cut the sticks as per required length i cut 12 cm x 2

Step2: Cut notches at the center of the sticks so that both can stick.

Step3: Glue both the sticks together using the notch.

Step4: Use some nylon thread to strengthen the join.

Step5: Add some glue on the thread

Step6: You can stick V939 board on the arms using some double sided tape

Step7: Cut a notch in the arms for the motor (7mm)

Step8: Fit motors in the arms using a strong rubber band.

satyagupta awesome dude.....  fly with this 12cm frame quad will have very quick response.. and if we could use fruty straws then the frame becomes much more lighter than bamboo stick frame...... i have tried both but straws satisfied me a lot..........

satyagupta

Right jayant, may use foam to make frames and to wrap them in paper and some coating of water+glue.

Many use coated very thin copper wires to make it more light.

Dear Satya,

Placed order for motors & Spares. NEFT scheduled tomorrow....

satyagupta

@Shivela Cool I would be out tomorrow so i will be able to ship it on Tuesday

Guys just an update

The total thrust generated by the motors supplied by the kit is 35 grams, so try to make the AUW under 32 grams.

Which means the motor to motor distance should be less than 15 cm for best performance my suggestion is 12cm

03:17 hrs. Frustrated :banghead:

Not getting any lift. Motors 3 and 4 are not providing ANY lift at all. Motors 1 and 2 are working fine.

Someone please clarify these points:

1. Motors 1 and 3 are supposed to spin Anti Clockwise and their props are identical.
2. Motors 2 and 4 are supposed to spin Clockwise and their props are identical.
3. Props revving up at Zero throttle and trim at lowest on a HK V2 Tx - why?

:banghead: :banghead: :banghead:
Growing old is mandatory, growing up is optional!

arun.sreelakam

Vc sir the orientation is perfect... if the props are reviving when battery is connected(before binding to tx) then that channel might have some problem... try any shorts in the soldering..
And check whether the speed is increasing or not of that particular motor  while throttle up.. if I am correct that motor will be spinning in a const speed even when the throttle is increased...

VC sir, you need to trim the throttle down and then bind it. Faced the same problem with my CT-6B.
