Hello ,

I am working on my 3rd quad project (20 Kg Payload, custom built ), Its a Co-axial Quad , which i am building . Selected MAD Components Motors Anti Gravity Series and tuned 18inches Props and Esc .

Problem is importing from China , can anyone guide , how to import hasslefree from China as MAD has no Indian Distributor.

I have ordered 10 Pcs of Motors

5 pcs in Each seperate Carton

1 carton for Props only , total 3 Cartons .

Any person , who can help in importing hassle free , likely obstruction ?

I am sorry , but just speaking won't do !! Anyways we are working it out for a Start-up, which will eventually benefit our country.

In that case , can you list even 1 Carbon Fibre Propeller makers in India ?

any one Indian manufacturer making heavy duty Drone Motors ?

Any one Manufacturer in India making Harmonic Drive , gear Motors with very high torque !!

Bro , please , i don't want to vent out my frustration here , but Sadly Indian Market is atleast 10 Yrs behind ,

we are like " traders" , No innovation is happening here.

Do you know , i am getting  50Nm torque CAN-Open compliant Harmonic Drive Motor , Its NON EXISTENT IN INDIA .

Only other option is German make which 10X times costly and weight 4X more !!

:hatsoff: :hatsoff:  :hatsoff:
I really respect you for your initiative.

Atleast we have some true Indians like you who respect National Emotion!. It is time to do some serious R&D to maintain our Hobby. Many say that Necessity is the Mother of Invention", hope it is right.

Regards,

ishan

Dear Sirs ,

I understand that raging emotion , however , we do not have capacity as of now , neither is the government interested, I have researched my options in India and could not find even 1 suitable option !!

Unless we come out of this trading mindset and kickstart innovation, nothing is going to happen for sure !!

Pls advice what can be done in this regard, i am ready to consider other option albeit if they are $50-$100 Costly too !

Ishan! If you can get your hands on the motor do write a review,
I've seen their specs it's too good to be true!
I had spoken with them when they had just launched never bought them, cause the specs felt fishy

In case you want t motor you can check with indian robo store and robokit.

Try finding their resellers else where in the world and order the motors from them!

ishan

Exactly Naveed , their specs seems dubious , but than i realized they are actually good , i am using paid ecal simulator for test bed results, also realized their propeller pitch is different from what is offered in the market.

Like in 18 inch , what is common in Market is 18 X6.1 , MAD has 18 X 7.2  Props and they generate monstrous thrust !!

Any other reviews you could find regarding MAD Components  ?  I could not find reviews of their Heavylift Antigravity series !!

Sunny Sky appears promising and quite cheap for the setup , but i am still deliberating for Better Motors !!.

Have already found T-Motor india distributor , but Budget is going way over the head with T-Motors.

10 U7 KV490 + ESC + 8 Sets of Props alone is costing 3.5 Lcs !!  My budget is somewhere close to 2-2.25Lcs for Motors + Esc + Props

Any other Suggestion for Motors , which can be imported through a distributor in India ? I am bit hesitant about importing the Motors directly , Customs are unpredictable !!

some get through declaring Motors as Brushless DC Motors  HS Code -83--  !!

Mohammed Naveed

i couldnt find anything on MAD motor,
the T motor props are much expensive than motor itself :P,
importing them you face heavy custom duty! lets say around 45%(at minimum) of bill amount on top of that DHL will take a cut for custom clearance!

best is to pick it up locally itself,

what flight controller you using?
what is the application for such big setup?
whats are your specs?

sorry with the questions just interested to know!

tonyStark

20KG payload is great. For what application are you planning to use it?

I totally agree, just howling over Chinese product won't serve the purpose. It becomes hollow call when you don't have local alternatives.

You check any electronics that you have in house. They have one or other components made in China. Be it a Indian brand or foreign brands. Bharat forge and some defence part manufacturers also do import certain products from China. We can't eliminate it but yes we can definitely reduce it to a level where it will hurt them BAD.

The practical approach is to get the parts from where ever you can, be it Germany, USA or China and make a good product here. Atleast, China would become a vendor to us not the direct product seller. This way you will pull them one ladder down.

Its really great to see many post here going "Made in India". I myself associated with a startup innovating into Model jet turbine in India. The other day I heard someone working on Tx. This is what we need rather then just howling.

Cheers!!!

To everyone screaming Make in India and avoid China I would recommend you listen to this https://open.spotify.com/episode/4yVVYYlMiaY5k1BzHxSsEh

@ishan you could try talking to some of the hobby shops and robotics shops if they can source these motors for you, I've heard of something similar happening on this forum some time ago. If they can't then you could try getting SunnySky motors. There are some dealers for SunnySky in India and they might help you out. You could also talk to the local customs officers or send an email to Kolkata customs email (considering you live in Kolkata). If none of these options work out then you won't have any option except biting the bullet and either buying the expensive T motors or ordering from Mad Components and taking the risk of harassment from customs officials.

PS: What do you plan on doing with these huge motors? If you can't put it here could you PM me about it?

PPS: I couldn't find the antigravity series motors on mad components website, could you add the link to those? I'd like to see the thrust and power measurements for myself.

Nitesh

Hello Everyone , this heavy lift project is for my own start Up !! Industrial purpose . will definately share the feedback of MAD Components Motors , once i lay my hands on them.

Mohammed Naveed

All the best for your project, Looking forward to the MAD component motor review!

Hey ishan.. I feel your pain bro people day boycott Chinese goods.the fact is it's the most foolish thing to say ..right now we have no capabilities in India to product goods and the volume and price that China does it. We just can't, almost every make In India product has parts manufactured in China. There is no initiate not finding by the government for any kind of research on this field.

Coming to your topic about importing. I feel you should approach some well know universities in your and try using an educational and research oriented approach to try getting a permit for entry for your goods at customs. Get a letter from the University Dean or whoever saying that the good being imported are not for sale and is for educational purposes only and this can be later forwarded to the head customs department along with your tracking number. I think this might help you get through customs more easily and also if they charge you any duty it might be minimal. I don't know if this will work.. but just a suggestion.

tonyStark

Not so easy. I once wen to mumbai customs when a compressor was kept on hold and they served me a notice. I told them this is for educational purpose. I gave them my college card, shown them professor mails and detail schematic and picture. He got convince, he was a guy from my state so got some advantage. But he then told me that there is a saperate process for such import in the name of educational institutions or purpose. He then pulled out a file, IIT bombay had imported something. The document was sent to customs beforehand and it was 8-10 page document with sign and attestation from what not.

But again if you can convince them, they will release without heavy customs but this is unpredictable.

Frustration comes out the " Trader Mindset of Indian People "   Isme kitna taka profit milega ?  I have been searching the Complete indian Market for Harmonic Drive Actuator !!

Not a Single Manufacturer in India for Harmonic Drive Integrated Servo Motors , Either buy it from Germany or go to China or Taiwan or South Korea.

Leave capacity aside , Indian People have this " Trader " Mindset , what a Shame , we don't even have a single Company manufacturing UAV Motors !!

Most of so called Manufacturing in India is assembling parts from China , South Korea or Taiwan ! On top of that Our Stupid Governments !!

Velodyne LIDAR , which is retailing for $3800 in US ( After Discount) , retails in India for arnd  Rs 5.5 lacs  almost 200% times the actual price .

It seems they never want to promote any innovation , its a shame that Countries like Taiwan and South Korea are atleast 10-20 Yrs ahead in manufacturing  in Heavy Industries.
