Hey guys I need some help  , I have made a new quad from the electronics of my old one , THE problem is that after some time in the air , 1-15 minutes it just crashes , every single time I have flown it , it's not a power problem as the last quad had about 30 minutes flying time . Every single time it's the bottom right motor propeller that gets destroyed . Help me .

Motors - 4x avionic 850 kv
Esc 1x 20a hobbywing Quattro esc
Control board - kk 2.0
Battery 2x 2200 11.1 v = 4400 mah 11.1 v
Transmitter - futaba t8fg
Receiver - orangerx
LEDs - turnigy night flying kit

Are bullet connectors soldiered properly ?
Or try using new lipos
Or please check if you radio signal is not lost
Many more reasons first check with these and let me know...

Same motor prop getting destroyed, then it is landing on it first ->  it is failing first IMO.

Reason, the ESC of that motor is either shutting down or the control board is triggering it. If control board is not triggering it, then ESC normally shuts down upon large load to prevent from frying itself -> culprit may be the motor which may have shorted internally in a one or few of those windings in the stator. Replace motor and try at low hover, if it still crashes then replace ESC and then controller.

Also as chintal has mentioned, it could even be a loose solder/connection for the motors/esc. Make a thorough and detailed observation of the electrical connections and the components, including the motor. Good luck!

@ chintal the bullet connectors are soldered propelery , I have two lipos connected in parallel , but I have also tried to use a new one , my radio signal is not getting lost as sometimes it crashes within half a meter from me .
@tantragna I have a single Quattro esc that connects to 4 motors .

it only crashes when I rotate it or move it in speed , thus I was thinking it might be the gyro gain settings in the kk2 board

SideWinder

I usually have the same type of crash where a motor fails and it flips on that side....but thats due to low battery.
Everytime my battery runs out, the same motor stops working first.

Just to be sure have you checked the voltage of the pack after the crash?
As you mentioned, during turning or speed runs motor draws higher current, so it can be that esc is the culprit.

Try to switch the esc on the current motor that stops working to a different motor, or just switch the motor to another arm. That way we would know whether its the motor or esc.

devangflyer

Okay I'll try that once the rain stops and the field is dry , thanks!!!

devangflyer

I have checked voltage it's v is 11.89 after the crash , but it wouldn't be a volt prob as it sometimes crash within a minute of takeoff when fully charged

devangflyer

I switched the the esc to another motor and the cable on the board , flew it in my room , it's still crashing , in the same motor , but I highly think the gyro gain might be the prob

Rcproduct

Hi,
devangflyer

If you think there is a problem in Gyro than do one thing.

Just reset Factory setting in KK2 Board and Try again.

Maybe it will work if problem in Gyro gain.

I dont know how can gyro lead to crash unless it is not communicating properly, i.e it is broken. You can check if the gyro is working properly by going into "Sensor Test" and pan& tilt the FC. Do it slowly because moving it wildly will show you error which is normal. You can reset the FC and check as Rcproduct stated.

If you are talking about PI setting, they would introduce instability which will lead to a crash, it shouldnt lead to a normal flight then sudden motor cutoff and crash.

As you have changed the esc, now try to move the motor to another arm and check it. Also check the solder on the pins of kk2.

check the vtg of individual cell after the crash. Another thing u can do is give input to the Quad but dont fly it let the motors rotate but the Quad stays on the Ground. This is a time consuming n painstaking job, but this is also the safest way. but u ve to monitor the behavior of the Machine very Precisely.

Few questions from my side:
Do you notice any added vibration in the motor that you're having problem with?
Until now, how many times have the prop failed on that motor?
What size props are you using?

Check if all props looks perfect at the hub. Many a times a prop gets weakened up at the hub (while excessively tightening the spinner or while a minor crash) and then the same prop breaks away mid flight later on.

Which motor layout did you select in KK2.0 menu settings?

devangflyer

Hey guys I solved the prob . The problem was the gyro gain I took it down and now it's flying perfectly . The gyro gain had to be adjusted because it comes factory set for x quad and I made a h quad , the settings are usually same , but some things change

@EVERYONE thanks for helping me . I think that now my prob is solved I am not going to reply to the old comments

@ rcmumbai.com I am not going to post the video as I have just finished my 15gb  3G pack now I have slow 2 g speed net , it will reset on 11 maybe I'll upload it on that date .

Love to see quads flying do post later on
