Reasons can be many. Which module are you using exactly? A pic will be of great help for both sides.

To begin with I hope you are trying this outside under an open sky. Have to be sure about it.
Also leave it for sometime like 10-20mins for the first time.

Or it could be due to wrong wiring. Correct wiring diagram if its the one I think you are using is

Or could be that GPS module is not configured correctly (ex: baudrate) and you will need to program it.

Aeroempire

Ok, thank you for support! Now will tell all processes which I followed
Starting from step 1
Mission planner>installing firmware quad x>wizard>calibrating compass>calibrating radio>
Mean while
Mixing radio to achieve 6 flight modes on it
Then saving flight modes>fail safe !!
When I returned to first page of mission planner I saw my apm board was working but gps: No gps!!

When read in some forums that antenna wire must not be plugged in, then I plugged in the gps!
After it gps status as No fix!

Contacting Chintal and following what he told I waited approximately for 1 hr in an open space ground but still didn't get the signal.
The GPS module had solid green color always.!

Solid green or blue??

When its searching for GPS lock its blinks green and when it has a lock then its solid blue.

Can you post image of the connection between your GPS and apm?

Solid green i have never seen that, its either blinking green (GPS search) or solid blue (GPS lock)

I am sure about this as i have tested this many times with my MPNG and APM both. You have to be in open ground and lock happens quickly.

Today I have received my APM & GPS module (similar one). I got GPS lock with 3D fix within 15 min in my home.
Solid Green LED (on gps module) -> GPS is powered
Blue LED Flashing (on gps module) -> GPS lock

As mentioned by Mr.Satyagupta, try outdoors, you will get GPS lock quickly.
If possible pls post a pic showing the connectivity. Sidewinder has shared a link which shows how to connect it to APM.

What antenna wire?

phanivyas

The cable which you might have got along with this GPS module should have a 6 pin connector at one end (this should go onto the GPS module) and will be split into two connectors (5pin & 4pin)at other end.

Out of the 5pin connector, there will be only 4 wires which should be connected to top GPS port on APM.
Out of the 4pin connector, there will be only 2 wires which should be connected to I2C port on APM.
Total 6 wires end to end.

Dk

hello guys  :)

Your copter can be armed without gps & compass. Your accl, radio, flight modes has to be calibrated in MP. If you are facing arming issues you can disable pre arm checks.Refer to the link below.

You said that you have already tried uploading 3dr config to gps module, checked the cabling.Even then you were unable to get GPS lock. So atleast what you can do is to try with a different GPS module.
