Title: Carbon Fibre Propellers Urgent HELP NEEDED!!!!
Post by: Dr. Abhishek Agrawal on March 10, 2015, 01:49:49 AM
Hi everyone

I bought two pairs of  11x4.7 carbon fibre propellers for my Quadcopter from Rcmumbai.com. I got my parcel yesterday at 5p.m. When I opened the parcel I saw that there are so many scratches in all 4 propellers seems like used ones also centre hole of prop looks not good over all it's not at all looks like new one. Propellers are also not glossy in all surfaces.
I called CHINTAL from rcmumbai.com regarding the same. He told me that it comes like that only but I am not satisfied with them. In my knowledge it is 100% used ones.
Here I am attaching the images of the propellers and as I bought these carbon fibre propellers first time need suggestions weather it is used or new one.  :help: :help:

These props were sealed in plastic bag the scratches that you see are from sanding not because of used propellors
Please also upload the picture of the props arriving in sealed plastic bag

Abhi - you need to take a few deep breaths before rushing in
and posting topics like " Bad experience......" especially when that experience pertains
to a couple of CF props.

It is highly unlikely that any (regular) seller is going sully his/her reputation by
giving you used props. ( The margin is what ... Rs 400/Rs 500 ?) it simply is not
worth it.

For what is is worth - I can confirm that many of the CF props have scuff marks on them

There is no problem that i see in those images that you have uploaded.

Before you post anything like this please think that, None of the LHS manufacture the goods here they are manufactured in China and the imported here. So you have to understand the handling that it went through before it came in the hands of any LHS.

As per your images, literally i dont see any major damage that would cause the propeller to be unusable.

And i am sure if there was any damage Chintal would have not sent it to you.

So Abhi calm down a bit, if this is the first time you are buying CF props thats how you get it and it is in perfect condition to use :)

I can second that. Think these props dont come off in shape ofter moulding etc, and are sanded/finished. And Abhi it looks like a case of shoddy finishing job with your props.

Yea! calm down abhi, I have had very good experience with chintal as well as Satya Gupta, never faced any issues so far....

Not overtaking your post but i thought i should share something here....

Recently i had a strange dealing with rcsportz... i purchased Hex driver set (https://www.rcsportz.com/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=193&search=hex (https://www.rcsportz.com/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=193&search=hex)) looking at the product image... especially the storing the attachment in the back section of Hex Drive was what i thought will be cool and handy, but when i got the shipment i was surprised to see entirely different product of same nature, they are hex driver set but they are different and this is no big deal to me as they are doing what they are supposed to do.

My only grudge is if the seller is sending a different product for some reason then he should have courtesy to inform the purchaser that he is sending a different brand of product or he is ready to return the money instead of taking things for granted. I have written a mail to rcsportz.com aout this goof up, hoping i will get some kind of positive response from them.

actually the markings you are talking about are of fine grinding of sharp and uneven edges..
plastic props are die-cast props( molten plastic is injected in molde thats why they are smooth )
but cf props are made up by joining layers of carbon fiber with resin and then pressed under high pressure... which leaves uneven edges.. which were later corrected by grinding...)
so don't worry...

@rcproduct those are not scratches those are marks from sand paper to give them proper shape

If you look in the images in the second post by OP, they look more than scratches. You can see the broken edge near hub. A better resolution pic would have be helpful. CF composites are prone to cracking and layers coming off or stripping especially when they are already damaged. It may have not been used but it might be a concern from a buyers perspective with respect to quality in my opinion.

please check i am not telling that is a scratches on props.

i am saying about my props not about your buyer's props.

I am also Agree with SideWinder ..

Bcoz in last two images there is more more than scratches..

and i suggest to agrawalabhi24 to upload more high resolution images so anyone can understand what is in Original.

My propellers from Hobbyking had the same marks and scratches, just a consequence of sanding them for proper balancing.
Getting propellers without any such marks means that they are better quality propellers, not that the others are used.

If you don't want even a single scratch, go for T-motor propellers and pay as much as you did for your motors.
