Title: Dualcopter Help.
Post by: sajid6300shaikh on March 18, 2013, 08:01:12 PM
We built this dualcopter or maybe singlecopter 2M 2S and after 3 designs and few months hard work it is finally taking off but its still not satisfactorily stable (We need more careful tuning maybe).
But the real question is we don't understand why it keeps on losing altitude. When I lift it from ground I give full throttle and it takes off real well, but slowly and sometimes rapidly it loses the altitude and even after giving full throttle it comes down, then we have to lift it again from ground.
Can anyone explain this behaviour. We are using kk2.0 board.
and what is the function of height dampening and limit in that board.?
.
Skip to 3:14 for outside testing.
Skip to 3:52 for relatively good flight.

Good job on the build Sajid! i really like your threads idea.

For more stability i would recommend you

1) check CG - that is #1 reason for this type of in-stability

2) place FC board on Exact CG

Thanx atul.
The CG is well above the control vanes and motor pivot point, as suggested on rcgroups.
Maybe its drifting because of the wind, as it has large curved surface area.
But we need to tackle the problem of altitude, it doesn't stay at a height and keeps on climbing and falling..
