Which esc you have? Was it too ho to touch? Slightly warm is okay if your esc have linear bec as they produce lots of heat!

I have a 10amp esc ordered from quadkopters ... I was able to touch it but I unplugged the programmer and the battery soon after I touched it so as to prevent it from damaging

As you say you were able to touch it i think it is the heat from the linear becs inside the esc.....for further assistance contact Satya Sir(a very approachable person) about the issue and what kind of bec is present in the esc :hatsoff:

is your servo connected to the bec supply? If yes then the binding of the servo is causing the internal bec to slightly heat up but no worries as this is normal  :hatsoff:

Hello darshan is the red wire from the remaining three escs cut? only one esc has to power the fc

i have seen many tricopter build videos but none of them said that we had to cut the red wires ?? please explain... its my first multirotor and i want it to be perfect

Himadri Roy

It is a common practice by people to disconnect the red wire of the other 3 esc. Only one of the bec supplies power to FC and receiver.

So my setup is wrong is it??

your setup seems fine. just remove red wire from your any two esc ( let only one esc to power your fc.)
and also which props you are using?? 10A ESC is OK if you use a 5030 it drew 9.3A with 105W at 11.4V However, if you use 5045, 6020, 6030 etc larger props you might need a 12A - 15A ESC (15A is more safe) to avoid over-driving the ESC (will result burn of ESC if it is over-current).

Can you show me what you have done ..because I can't understand it

At the end of Esc wire, there is a plug/connector which which consists of 3 wires.Usually yellow, red and black/brown.Just cut or disable the red wire from two of the esc's.

it is not always necessary. The BECs should not be connected parallel only if they are switching BECs . connecting linear becs in parallel or in serial will not harm the bec or the load in anyway.
I haven't seen or used any ESC with Switched BEC as of now, all the ESC I have seen on sale across various Domestic and International hobby stores, all come with linear becs
There is no any need to cut of the red wire from bec output of Linear ESCs, as they won't cause an interference to each other when connected in parallel or series .
But ESCs with switched BEC or any other Switched mode DC power supplys should not be used in parallel or serial combinations, as it will interfere with each other and may cause damage.
