My flysky FS-T6 transmitter has an issue of sticks not centering for the right hand side sticks (Roll and pitch).
when ever I try trims or sub trims to make the stick centered, once the stick is moved again, the center value changes from zero to some random value around the center.

many people here seem to have experienced this issue with Flysky 6CH transmitters, (CT6B ant FST6). many here reported it (parichya.gautam , rohan123).

the main problem with this sticks not centering, is while trying to fly KK flight control boards.
in these boards , if roll, or pitch sticks are not, centered, it is very hard to control the quad  :banghead:

I know , with some other flight controllers like multiwii.. there is a dead band option around stick center that can be enabled to avoid this problem.
but how can one overcome this issue while using a KK board (KK 5.5 or KK 2.x LCD) ?

If anyone has found a solution for this, pls post, It will help many beginners, who buy a Flysky radio and KK control board in a cheap budget just like I did.  :hatsoff:

never seen "dead band" option in the KK boards however i read somewhere that the cfw "open aero 2" for KK boards have this feature(no enough experience with that to confirm).

You can use Expo function on your roll/pitch channels, which is probably there on your Tx. Begin from 10% and move upto 50% if you think so. Similarly you can set throttle curves to get mid throttle stable hover. This should work on both kk boards or any FC which doesnt have deadband/throttle curve support natively.

As for a firmware, I don't think there is any option for kk 5, but for kk 2 you can try RC911's KK2.0 v1.6++ Rev 3. It has a stick scaling feature which is not exactly a deadband but will help to reduce overall sensitivity of the copter in-turn reducing stick sensitivity.
Open aero 2 does have deadband but its a fixed wing firmware :(

well I have both boards, KK 5.5 and KK 2 LCD , now.
what can I do to avoid this , preferably in KK2 ?
today my modal flew away out of sight because of this roll / pitch stick issue. :banghead:
thanks to LiPo low voltage alarm, after two hours or so, the buzzing started from top of a dense tree.... which was 200 mts away from what I thought the quad must have crashed.
No damages except a lost prop saver :)

whether The dual rate and Expo setups in the transmitter will be of any help ???

I think you lost orientation or lost signal. The stick centering issue (0-10pts) wont cause a flyaway as such specifically on kk2. Other reasons for an unstable copter can be incomplete radio calibration, tuning and unbalanced copter etc.

And YES using Expo will help you as I mentioned earlier :headscratch:. No need for dual rates imo. Google and see how both work & use accordingly.

You can fiddle with the software as everyone suggests, that is, in a way, overcoming the issue without fixing it.
If that works for you, its great. Otherwise to really fix the issue you could just open up the transmitter and replace the springs on the right with new ones.

I am not an expert at this, so please refer to some youtube videos, I might be talking complete nonsense.

Btw, on the plus side, as you are just learning to fly, this would really challenge you, and at the end you would be able to fly the quad really well, albeit with a lot of broken props, as now you have to keep control of the right stick at all times.

i completely agree with side winder ,if we change the expo settings the quad will become less sensitive to controls , and you could just adjust the trims so than the variation is low and its sad to hear the maiden went like that.

sooraj.palakkad

ha, ha, rohan, at least I had a maiden flight of about several tens of meters lift !!!

Well I hadn't played with any Expo or other settings in the transmitter brfor the flight - Just adjusted trims and End points to adjust with receiver i/p of KK2 (min value b/w -100to -90 and max. value b/w 90 to 100). Was flying with default PI values.
Now wait for tomorrow - have done some mods to the quad,  mainly a tail for getting orientation :giggle: - Will be  here with a flight video

Before that I need few suggestions, (can't take another crash, my friends around here will laugh at my madness :()
1) Can I fly with default PI values ?
2) my KK firmware is 1.2 what is the main settings to be done ? (have searched a lot but only got manual for other firmwares.)
3) should I use self level ?
4) should I do any mod to the stick scaling option in KK board

The questions will go along, easy option is, Do someone have a manual for this firmware (v1.2) ?

Now I have done the flollowing,
1) adjusted trims and endpoints to maintain all channel min and max picked by the FCboard
    b/w -100 to 100.
2) changed expo of pitch channel (this channel have non centering issue) to 100
3) increased min throttle in FC board to 15
4) increased height dampening in FC board to to 15 and height dampening limit to 30.

Is this enough? or anything important missed?

Dont mock me, i promise you that my quad will be airborne this week, and i kind of solved the motor mounting problem, photos attached, i would be using big screw with a washer(disk shaped) and will pass it through the 2 big holes
Ps-as it is difficult to attach photos in pm i added them here, not trying to change the topic

Dont mock me,

Hey, mate, I will never do that, I was just expressing my view to it when you said  " sad to hear the maiden went like that. "  - - I mean at least I got it fly like that, - no where mocking you  ., sorry. but you misunderstood.

I don't mind. :)

Glad to hear that you managed to mount the motors, But make sure yourselves, it is properly mounted.... You know what i mean ......
Wish you all the best for a take off this week itself

got a good flight - almost learned the controls - NO CRASHES - only some broken PVC landing skid :).
A maiden video will be uploaded by evening - couldn't take a video in morning flight.
I used default PI settings , some expo on pitch stick and a throttle curve with slow response after 45% throttle.

What PI should be used for making the quad to return to level just when stick is centered ?
should I decrease I gain for that ? (Now I gain is 25 for pitch and roll)
