I have been building and flying multirotors for 3 years but I have never used carbon fiber sheets for center plates of the frame ..

I have always used glass fiber epoxy sheets 1mm ..
Can someone please tell me what will be the difference if I use the 1mm carbon fiber sheets instead...
How light and strong will it be from the glass fiber epoxy sheets , also is it worth according to the price difference...

I've heard it's always better to use *woven* carbon fibre sheets. (I also don't know what other CF sheets are avble). BTW, where do you get fiber glass Epoxy sheets? I need them VERY badly. What kinds of stores sell them? ???

Dude finally i got someone who provides CF plates (1mm or 2mm) at a good cost.. 245mm x 315 mm 1.5 mm thick for 2245 includes shipping from China to India. I am planning to get few and resale it here.. I am still talking with them, if you need let me know..

@Satyagupta

I'd like to suggest (if I may) you to buy from a local dealer in Mumbai, this way you can save you lot of money, time and hassles and inturn to us too. For eg, I found this:
http://www.indiamart.com/thermolite-mouldings/industrial-products.html

They seem to sell CF. It's located in Vasai in MH, some 60km from Mumbai. (google maps)

Good luck and let me know any updates thru this thread.
Thanks

India- search construction hardware stores. In bangalore Ul get in sp road. Near mumbai or Pune - the post above urs is the best bet I can think of.

Pcb wholesale store. Search your local market. Some 300rs for 7x5inch with copper plating on one side. Etch it away or keep it or use it as power distribution board if you can use it cleverly and save some bucks on it.

oh... so you user the pcb board directly?? but that comes in specific thickness if I am right?

Havent used it in multicopters but worked with them in the past extensively. Yes they come from .5mm to 3mm and in different sizes, its your best bet if you want it durable, cheap and light. Cutting them is tricky challenge though!
