Finally got a god enough flight from my newly made quad and it crashes in the trees XD
More kharcha :P

Try a simulator called Fx onto your android phone .I hope it will help you a lot and need no investment for the regular simulator too.
I learned that way only.
No i mean i know how to fly ( assuming thats what the sim is for ) . I was just a gust of wind came from nowhere as i was trying to descend , that led it to the crash in the tree.
wind?most of the times it wont effect the flying. Were you flying with self level on?
no it was OFF.
Yes, now that you say, it did sway a lot when wind came. Flew at night too and after some time it started flying along the winds direction.
For more stability turn on self level. :)
how do i do that ?
Are you using kk2.1?
yes :)
how do i do it ?
KK2.1
(not 2.1.5)
to turn on self level on kk 2.1 first go to mode settings . then change self level from stick to aux.. than on 5ch of your radio setup custom switch for self level.. than return to main screen of your kk. than check whether it works or not...

" than on 5ch of your radio setup custom switch for self level. "
i didnt get this part
which radio u are using?
FlySky-CT6B
connect 5 port(or AUX port) of your kk board with CH5 port of your receiver..
actually i am using turnigy 9xr so on that you have to assign custom switch.. sorry for that
oh ok.
How do i enable it then ?
after connecting and changing stick to aux (in mode settings) . turn on your tx and kk.2.1 ( props removed ) than check on your main screen of kk there is self level off than turn on switch and it will toggle self level on....
@parichay, if your quad is not opposing slow winds (I mean normal wind), Some thing is wrong in your PI tuning. Using self level with out correctly tuning PI values , proper end points and trims, leads to chaos (which I experienced once :( )
Normally, KK2 can oppose normal speed winds, So I think your crash was due to lack of proper tuning (The quad must have had tendency to drift on it's own )
yes it tends to do so. i haven't touched the PI Tuning, everything at default ( 250 values)
another thing, the controls are opposite too :P
the quad turns the opposite way when the stick are moved, just th ethrottle is fine, IE: left side stick will make it rotate along ts own axis anti-clockwise and similarly for the others.
how ca this be corrected ?
Well, so this is what you called a 'good enough flight ' - with reversed controlls and a drifting quad, ???
There are several preflight tuning and setup to be done dude :)
First of all refer to KK2 manual :)
You have to reverse the channels in your Transmitter (Only the channels that are misbehaving) .
Read the KK2 manual, and follow the procedures, still if you have doubt with something, feel free to ask :)
well since this is the first time I flew a quad, my brain easily got used to the opposite controls, soo yeaaah.
also, I wanted a responsive and a snappy flight and the dafult values gave me that.
For the drifting issue, what should i do ? Reduce I gain/limit, increase it or what ?
Well set it up correctly, and happy landing (This time not on the tree but on ground :))
PI values can be put default no problems with that .
For avoiding drifting, use enough transmitter trims or subtrims to compensate.
btw, which is your transmitter ?
haha yea, im yet to find an open ground near my area. The one where people go to and a 50min drive from my place XD
basic FS CT6
FS 6Ch radios have known issues on the right hand sticks - usually the right hand sticks will not be centered :( - At first I had uncontrollable drifting due to this later I used expo on the non centered sticks to have a smooth response around the center stick region.
And why you need a OPEN GROUND ??? don't you have a back yard or terrace (terrace is not that good for tuning it up)
See this video : www.youtube.com/watch?v=6FSuqgml5hI (//http://) (My first flight and tuning in my back yard.)
well i live in a flat, so the only open area i have with grass at the ground is the park, and it is filled with trees XD
You really don't need much space for a quads. Did you say your default PI values are 250? That does not seem default to me. Which firmware are you running? Follow this link for setting up your quad: http://oddcopter.com/2012/12/27/easy-diy-quadcopter-build-part-3-setup/ (http://oddcopter.com/2012/12/27/easy-diy-quadcopter-build-part-3-setup/) and this one for PI tuning: http://oddcopter.com/2013/01/06/easy-diy-quadcopter-build-part-4-tuning/ (http://oddcopter.com/2013/01/06/easy-diy-quadcopter-build-part-4-tuning/)
yes they were, FW is 1.9 Stevie i guess.
250 seems really high. Didn't you have oscillations with it? My quad flies good with P gain around 65 and I at 30. Try tuning your quad and I am sure it will fly much better. BTW, 1.19S1 is out so your firmware is 10 versions old. An update will probably help it fly better.
oh alright. Will do so.
Spares will be coming in some time so will let you know how it goes.
also tune these settings for stable flight...
alrighty
