Though banned by police, drones still fly in city

...Never Knew this, but why have they been banned??? A case of Paranoia?

TRUE, till then we hobbyist suffer. They should at least declare some provisional rules till they draft (or rather copy paste the rules from FAA) their policy instead of putting a total ban.

Am few months into this hobby, but whats the definition of "Indian civil airspace", where does it start from? does it start from some XX feet or does it start from ground up? Will flying indoors like it was done in mall in this case be considered flying in civil airspace? Just looking for a loophole to be able to fly in our back yards/ gardens

We need to have a proper rules n regulations related to operating of R/C planes, helis & quads...  especially we need a proper certification when is comes to flying quads or else such incidents will occur, if flying a quad in public places they need to have a permission from that local police station to operate it n the reason to operate it..

As every one knows there are many rich people in this country who get these ready to fly quad copter & half knowledge often leads to accidents... for which we R/C people have to pay....a big price

We need rules and regulations for hobby flyers but registering with the local police is not a good idea. The reality is that most of these cops will bend over backwards to satisfy these "rich and powerful" people. Instead registering with a hobby club or flying club, which in turn is recognised by the DGCA would be a much better idea.

My two cents

When I say certified means you have complete knowledge of operation & handling quad. People who use quads for flower dropping n do other fancy stuff must not only be banned but also a legal action must be taken against such people....

Hmmm, I thought this was an open forum to discuss our problems and this article is every hobby fliers problem. Am sorry if it has repercussions on any ones sales, but am sure that'll be temporary because there are enough crazies like me who will build and fly till proper laws are in place. Educating users and responsible flying is the only way to go if we don't want this hobby to be strictly controlled by govt. agencies.
