I made this H quad a while ago and tuned it so that it is flyable. but it yaws to the right after take off, don't know why ??? :banghead: ....maybe i couldn't figure out the yaw PI settings well enough.
and one more thing the throttle goes up and down on its own ... and that scares the crap out of me :o :headscratch:
esc are flashed with simonk firmaware (HK f-30 light blue ones)
Please help me out with this problem :'( :'(
motors: Fc 28-22 1200kv
esc: HK F-30 (simonk)
prop: 10/4.5
battery: turnigy 2200mah 25-35c
board: kk2
frame: HD thermo and plywood
total flying weight is 700grams approx.
I think vibration may be the problem. Did you balance your props and motors? After that check your battery. You should check your motor bearings too.
Plus the controller board seems misaligned.
i did balance the prop and motors but still had some vibrations.
one thing i did notice that the bell of one motor had slight play to it and it rattles at a certain rpm.
how can i fix the motors??
actually the arms are at a certain angle, that's why the board seems to be off set.

+1 to that... make sure you align the board properly. There should be an arrow mark on the board to do so. Proper balancing of the props will help you with the stability too. Do follow their instructions line by line. Throttle calib for all escs should be done for proper spooling up.
i have tried everything possible ...now i am concentrating on how to reduce vibrations even further..
Have you checked the CG? It should be below the flight controller.
Aditya, your board SHOULD be in the centre, as lastRites suggested...
FYI,
Here is my H-Quad build......

Cheers!
i am pretty sure that ill have to play with the PI settings
Does your quad undergo fast oscillations in flight OR does it not react to control inputs fast? These are the only two problems that you can rectify by PID parameter tuning. So I am pretty sure that is not where your problem lies.
Hello Guys
I have made a H Quad and I am facing a problem. My all motors rotate in same direction. Can anyone please tell me which motors should rotate in which direction and how to solve the problem? Please help me. :(
Help please :help: :help: :help: :help:
do you know how to change the spinning direction of the motors by interchanging the 1st and 3rd wire between the esc and motor?
can you post some pics of your quad? m curious!!
So we have to interchange the wires. But I want to know which motor should spin in which direction.
which board are you using ??
maybe this video will help you.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IUogtrZlH70
motor layout for an X quad or H quad is the same.
skip first 4 minutes of the above video
Thanks for the video. I am using V3 HK board flashed with V4.7.
So M1 and M3 should spin clockwise and M2 and M4 should spin anti-clockwise.
maybe your board requires a different motor direction layout....but i think this layout is the one for your board too.. its universal i think :headscratch: ...but again look for the manual if you can to be on the saafe side

correct
Is there a video of what happens when all motors on quad are spinning in same direction? Just because I wondered what would happen if they do :giggle:
So LEFT LAND props will go on M2 and M4 and RIGHT HAND spinning props will go on M! and M3.
:giggle: nothing is more scary than 4 spinning propellers coming after you :o .... ask me how i know :giggle:
I have experienced 3 props.
So LEFT LAND props will go on M2 and M4 and RIGHT HAND spinning props will go on M! and M3.

counter clockwise rotation(ccr) on M2 and M4 and clockwise rotation(cr) on M1 and M3......just another way to say it
Haha I'm guessing you had a bad experience :p sure tell,
But with all props going same direction, I still want to see how it goes :p but scared to try on my quad :p :giggle:
Actually I didn't put on props an the quad.
it will spin like crazy :giggle: do not try it buddy

Correct?
correct
Hey guys
Today I tried to hover my H Quad but it was very much wobbly and was tilting towards one direction. Can any body help me?
wobbly: due to too hight or too low gain.
Titling towards on direction: try to apply opposite trim
This is what happens.

Watch till 0.50
Ved the quad must be parallel to the ground then only the sensors can work properly.. use a bigger platform...
If you are using kk5.5 flash it and place it firmly..
Make sure all motors are spinning in the right direction..
Make all the trims to neutral...
Set all the gyro a to almost 45-50%
And fly it.. it will work... recheck everything....

Reverse yaw gyro compensation.
How to reverse yaw gyro compensation?
I dont think the yaw port is reversed... Dharmik bhai you really think so?
Its moving sideways only na? Ved did you tried trimming to opposite sides?
Yes, as ved posted in the previous page, he has kk v4.7 loaded on the board. By default it requires to reverse yaw gyro compensation. As we see in the video it tries to move sideways when initial throttle applied but if more power given it will flip or may be even worst.
Here is the link, check post no.4 at the bottom Setup Details.

Absolutely 100% correct.
Hey Guys I did all the things told here but I am facing the same problem. Can it be due to wrong props on motors?
Hi Ved
Please have a look at this post.
http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showpost.php?p=18609175&postcount=73
Prop direction is given there. Please make sure that only yaw gyro is reversed. As i remember lazyzero flash tool has feature to check and reverse gyro on the pc during flash. The procedure is bit complicated but once you fix that it will fly great. May be you might have to reverse more than one gyro direction but mine worked fine for yaw gyro only. Please note that gyro pot direction and gyro direction are different.
OK. I will see.
I think there is some problem with the firmware. When I move the aileron stick to right M1 and M4 should speed up but it doesn't happen. M3 speeds up. Same case with all other controls. What may be the problem?
HELP
Reset the board to default settings and load the motor layout again. Then without any PID setting, test the motors without prop. If the throttle is acting weird again, Change the ESC. Go in for Turnigy Plush ESCs. Those are the best ESCs with best resolution.
This will definitely solve your problem.
OK
Hey Guys I think I found the solution. Every time I used to flash my board I flashed Quad rotor instead of X rotor. I will re-flash it again and try.
omg !!
QuoteIs there a video of what happens when all motors on quad are spinning in same direction? Just because I wondered what would happen if they do
If you're using RH and LH props, two props going the wrong way will most likely snap or fly off, and the quad royally screwed.
If you're using only one sides props, you will still get lift but the quad will spin about the y axis like a clothes dryer. Give a control input and it is doomed.
I'vent done this, makes little sense to do it, but that assumption is based on the laws of physics.
PS: good you figured it out early, I spent days to understand when i flashed a + with a tri, all because I the tooltip on the KK flash tool was coming up in black and not visible; I was clicking on the wrong button all the time.
Hey Guys.. A new problem have arrived now. When I connect my USBasp it comes Unknown USB Device(Invalid Device Descriptor . Does anyone know why? The drivers don't get installed.
Have you tried using the USBAsp on a different computer/port?
Let me check.
This is what comes.
Flash the firmware from repository.

Finally it worked. y doubt was correct.
