Hello.

It have been 3 years since i have started QUADCOPTERING. My first build was a 'S500' PCB version. After many flying and crashing, i thought why not another build.
So, I am going to share my experience in building my Discovery clone 'Horizon'.
I will be mostly using it for FPV and maybe some aerial shots with GoPro. Most of the electronics and parts are re-used.

Frame - TBS Discovery clone
FC - Pixhawk 2.4.8 with telemetry, GPS(M8N/uBlox) and Power module
Motor - Sunnysky 980kv X2212-13 brushless motors
ESC - EMAX 4in1 25A SimonK
Props - Some local 10*4.5 propellers
Battery - Multistar 5200mah 3S 10C Lipo
Tx&Rx - Avionics RCB6i with receiver

I have attached some photos of the build. :)

Trash that radio! Most unreliable.
Go frsky.

Moidu

Sure Rishabharma!
Thank you for your response. I will soon change the radio to some good models.

I have been using RCB6i for 2 years now maybe, but i have to say that it didn't fail me one time.
:)

rishabhbarma

Yeah not worth the risk, I've had 2 of them and problems with both.

Check the Frsky qx7 or x9d+ out , you won't regret.
X9d+ comes with battery , qx7 doesn't, which is another 3k. So go for the x9d+. Best option!

You can get a 11.1 v 3s  2200mah 2c lipo for the frsky taranis qx7 and it costs around 600 rs.  On robokits.co.in

Thank you guys for your feedback.
Sure, will try one of these transmitter set soon.

As of now, I will move on with the RCB6i as i have build this under kinda of tight budget.

What's your total weight with the battery? Are you planning to use a gimbal for the GoPro? FPV gear?

UPDATE - 26/09/2017

I have been busy for the past one month due to LAB EXAMS, TEST PAPERS, PROJECT SUBMISSION and all!
College Life! Hectic :P
I wasn't able to work on the model in that time. Anyways i have done some more upgrades like including FPV setup etc.

Parts used:
FPV Camera - Sony CCD Camera
Video Tx - Eachine TX526
Video Rx + LCD - Eachine LCD5802S
Antenna - DYS FPV 5.8G Antenna

Attached a GoPro direct to the frame. (As of now)
I have attached some photos of the final build.
Will try to upload a video soon :)

@kn8alpha
Sorry bro for late reply. (Tests, Assignments and all :P )
The battery weighs around 450gms.
As of now, no plans to attach any gimbal. I think attaching a gimbal would increase the overall weight of the quad to an extend that the current setup of motors and battery would find hard to work on.
