@SatyaGupta

I have been searching for WOVEN carbon fiber sheets in India since the last 2 months, but wasn't able to find any. :(

BTW, I bought the same brand and same A-rating ESC. So i think it hardly makes any difference if I calibrate the throttle.

satyagupta

exactly i thought the same, but trust me there is a difference. If you seen my video. First test in open ground, where the quad did a good rotation it was all on 40% throttle nothing else.. I had to adjust the trim to control that. Later i found that one of the motor is spinning slower that others. Changing the ESC fixed that :)

But i think i might be wrong dont know. btw how do you calibrate the throttle?? hear 2 beeps and move THR stick down right??

Yes, if it's HK SS series ESC, I followed these steps that I found REALLY helpful:

satyagupta

Hmmm i did the same but this is for battery selection.. Li-xx or Ni-xx

Atlast i m back with my modified quad and its video :giggle: i really worked hard this time, took ample of time in reading about the stuffs that i am planning to use for this quad.

Here are list of modifications to my quad

Frame: Turnigy Talon Carbon Fiber, nice sturdy and light weight.
ESC: HK Blue series 20A F-20 (and let me tell you they are just awesome my friends just awesome)
Motors: DT750 along with 1047 props (planning to upgrade to 1147 prop, have read a lot on RCG about DT750 and 1147 combo)
FC: KK2.0 board with LCD
and ya a new FlySky Radio (programmable one)

Actually i had finished the build a couple of weeks back but i was not getting time to test it outside, due to rains on weekends and office on weekdays :( but today rain gods had some heart for me and spared me from rain for couple of hours, water dried but the park where i usually test my quad was muddy so had no idea where to test it. Then my mum, yes mothers they always have great idea for their kids :giggle: "Beta why dont you try on road" i was like mom even a guy with a normal scooty drive it as its a hayabussa how do you expect me to try. But then there was no vehicle during that time. So atlast tried it out and yay see the results, please view in HD if possible.

Now i am lift of my quad smoothly no major drift or yaw, landing for me is a problem (last 5 sec in the video there is a hard landing that cos i spotted a vehicle coming) i cant get it to land softly kind of learning that. But then i think i will get better with practice. So my next step would to land my quad smoothly no major drops. Then learning to move the quad front-back and left-right. Will keep posting updates.

Have to give a special thanks to Dharmik, bro you helped me a lot :) thanks a ton, a million

Satya bro you done it finally!! Yes it flies fantastic, no doubt. It's all your hard work. I have same problem. I do fly in the street and it stays busy. That confine place makes me nervous giving much throttle.

hyd_quads

Congrats satya bro!!! It flies very smooth. So, what next? :)

satyagupta

Thanks vineet  ya she flies smoothly but i am not able control it, so i would now practice a lot on

Smooth take off (i can do that now) ;D
Soft landing, no way near to this >:( :banghead:
left/right and front back movements,

After i have practiced enough and have a good control over it i will think about next stage then and you know that would be :D :giggle: :P

lol buddy I just wanted to leave everyone waiting for it ... ;D

satyagupta

Today i practiced on my quad too, replaced my quads props to 1147 Slowfy version and i am able to see a lot of difference.

Quad lifts off at 25% - 30% throttle.
Quad is lot more stable i would say, i guess previous props where not balanced and i never tried to balance them :D
And broke 2 pairs while practicing :D

Something i noticed is, after attaining a certain height the drifts and unwanted yaw is gone. I am still not able to learn smooth landing :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Somewhere i had read said by anwar bhai that "the best secret to land these things is to bring them down to a height where it hovers and let gravity do the rest" i tried this once but still want to try more on this.
I tried Forward and backward movement, as i was not flying at a great height i was not able to practice this much but now i have idea how the movements need to done.

One last thing, as i have changed my props the the thrust now is like a lot, the moment i move my throttle more than 10% i can see quad moving up from ground.. So all of a sudden quad lifted to a lot of height and it got stucked to tree :( and then it fell down from a height of like 10 feet or more :( and one of the arm cracked :banghead: :banghead: but i have spare :D i will be back in a week or so with a video

Any one from Panvel in RCI want to know about a good open ground to practice a lot with such confine space i will loose like 2 pairs with every session :headscratch:

Yes you are right bro. Once you gain some height around 5-6feet, you will actually feel real hover capabilites. We are flying in very confine place where we won't see real magic of multis.

satyagupta

Exactly.... in every multi rotor video that you see on youtube you will see that its big open space either in fields or open beach..

Finally i am back with my quad, now have a lot of control over it. Lands smoothly, need to work more on it but still its good. I need to do some PID tunings i am not able to understand how to get that right. :headscratch: :headscratch:

BTW how to embed the video in the reply :headscratch: :headscratch:

Thanks arun it took almost 1 year (with couple months of break) for me to perfect it. Still lots of tuning but it will come with practice.

about adding video: it worked this time but was not working when i tried first time :headscratch:

i have one more video which is FPV but its 770 MB for 7:30 mins :o :o
