DJI, the company that gave us the far too popular Phantom line of quadcopters, doesn抰 just make the most popular line of FPV quads. Their top of the line flight controller, The Naza V2, is very good, able to connect to flight planning software that will set waypoints, talk to peripherals over a CAN bus, and has improved flight algorithms. On the other hand, their 憆educed price model, the Naza Light, can抰 connect to these nifty CAN bus peripherals and has a bit of a problem with drifting the quad from one side or another.

The Naza V2 sells for around $300, and the Naza Light sells for about $170, both with a GPS module. The hardware inside the V2 and Light is exactly the same. We all know how this is going to go down, right?

[udnham] over on the RC Groups forum figured out a way to load the more capable Naza V2 firmware on the Naza Light, giving the cheaper flight controller features that were, until now, only found in the more expensive V2 hardware. The upgrades include better algorithms for GPS position and altitude hold, the ability to connect to DJI peripherals including the Bluetooth module, the iOSD, and camera gimbals, Octocopter support, the DJI datalink modem, and a bunch of other features.

Even though DJI is using the same hardware in the $170 Naza Light and the $300 Naza V2, upgrading the firmware requires an Internet connection to the DJI servers. [udnham] wrote a utility that modifies the /etc/hosts file on your computer, runs a service, and allows you to upgrade your firmware on the Naza Light. Its basically a $130 firmware upgrade for a DJI flight controller thats a single download away. For some reason i deleted link if any body want pl pm me

hi,

i have 2 naza mlites and both are having major issues.

the flight pattern is very unpredictable and at times it looks very stable.
on the other hand it starts driftling badly on takeoff and is totally out of control.

have grounded both the controllers and looking for a major solution.

YOur link seems to be a good solution but i am curious to know if this works and also
whats the cost for upgrade.

have you tried it.

Awesome news bro so it worked !! So its worth taking the risk (-:

foolsworldus

the upgrade process takes less then 30 seconds..except for the software downloading part.. i have never flown on a naza lite.. I straight did an upgrade.. and the quad was extremely stable from the very first takeoff.

Sometimes in life taking some amount  Risk is worth it  ! But for the rest for it !! You bang your head LOL

hello frnds..
today i tried to update firmware. it successfully updates and says power cycle device.. i did but the firmware is still 1.00 and naza lite assistance software shows update available..

current version. 1.00  upgrade available 1.00
i update many times also did upgrade in safe mode.. but the same issue...

help plz... here i am uploading pics..

akhilzid

any other programs using port 80 in your system?

foolsworldus

@gunnu.. bro are you running the hack tool or not.. you got to keep it running and open...

akhilzid

will show current version 1 and upgrade to 4.02(not firmware 1) in upgrade dialog box.

also disable antivirus may help(some of them can mess with this process).

Edit: more info added below.

can be checked using this command "netstat -a -b" in command prompt window to know any other program using port 80

and don't forget to right click and click run as administrator on naza-upgrade while opening(without admin privileges this tool will not work in win 7/8)

gunnu

update successful tried in other lappy and it upgrades.. don't no y i wont update in mine...

gunnu

after upgrade facing an issue ( don't no its an issue ) in gps and atti mode when i provide throttle the motor speed remains constant till it reaches 60-70% and after that sudden increase but in manual mode its working properly...

foolsworldus

This is a new take-off feature for V2 naza.. callibrate ur TX and the motors will increase speed just above 50%...and take off at about 60%

foolsworldus

bring back the throttle to 50% after you have attained desired height.. your rotor will stay there rock steady (in GPS mode)

gunnu

i calibrate it but when i provide throttle to 70% motors gain speed but when put back throttle to 50% motors speed returns to idle...

foolsworldus

Check your throttle curve.. set it to default

gunnu

akhilzid

make sure hovering throttle must be between 40% and 60%

gunnu

ok thanx... tomorrow ill test and reply...
