This controller is called, Free Flight controller and has a advance version of the same called MMC10 comes with integrated ESC just plug you motors and batter its ready for fly.

a controller for a freeflight is like an engine with specific fuel.... cut off after  some time

in the days of free flight there were 2 ways or getting ur  model up in the air.
1> tow it to a specific height
2> put limited quantity of fuel so that it will run for only about 15-20 sec

these days with electric.. i suppose  they are trying to do the same.
