Hello everyone!

Ive been reading up alot on building and flying quads and am planning to take this fascination to the next level by building my own!

For my first kit i shortlisted the following from RCBazaar,

Hiller Fiber250 Turbo Combo -ESC/2204 motor/CC3d/DB/6x3
Avionic RCB6i (2.4Ghz 6ch transmitter with receiver)
Wolfpack White 1800mah 30C 11.1V
Wolfpack W6-AC 80W Multipurpose charger

Do you guys think its good starting point? How are avionic components in general?
Also Carbon fibre or fiber glass frames?

Thank you for your time!

Ishank - a good place to begin with.
RCBazaar is well known for its budget products enabling new comers or rather encouraging new comers.

Check some YouTube reviews on quad builds. Wish you all the best and enjoy your build.
Ask questions or you will never get the answers.

First of all,  I have heard about Hiller frames not being durable. Go for carbon fibre frames as they are basically more rigid. Checkout this kit if you are looking for a mini quad- http://www.quadkopters.com/product/arf-kit-rtf-kit-and-frames/diatone-blade-250-arf-kit/
Rcb6i is a good tx but I would suggest you to buy a flysky th9x if possible - http://rcmumbai.com/products/flysky-9x-2-4ghz-9ch-transmitter/
OR
If your budget permits, a Taranis is the best option currently - http://rcmumbai.com/products/frsky-2-4ghz-accst-taranis-x9d-plus-and-x8r-combo-digital-telemetry-radio-system-mode-2/
Do not go for wolf pack. They tend to discharge unevenly therefore shortening the life of the lipo. I would suggest to buy a bonka - http://www.rchlipos.com/bonka-1800mah-45c-3s1p-11-1v-lipo-battery-xt-60-plug.html

Thank you Bhavesh and Darshan for your feedback!

I do not recommend Avionic parts because it is harder to find solutions to problems online as they are only sold in India, the rest of the world does not use them.

For the frame, get a carbon fiber frame and a carbon fiber frame only. As a beginner, you will be crashing a lot, a glass fiber frame will break easily.

Lastly, I suggest getting a toy quad or simulator to learn how to fly. Piloting a 250 for the first time with no experience is not a good idea. Your quad will go very fast, it is very easy to lose it or crash into something without any flying experience. FPV Freerider and Liftoff are good racer simulators. Several toy quads are available on different LHS for a few thousand bucks, practicing on one of those will make you confident to fly something bigger.

Also a note, this hobby is very expensive, more so in India as parts are not available, so if you do not have good financing then it's best you don't enter the hobby. If that is not an issue, do not settle for cheaper parts because they are cheap - go for quality over quantity, it makes a big difference down the road.

Good luck.
