Title: problem with esc and motor interfacing
Post by: pushker_shukla on July 25, 2013, 07:42:47 PM
I am trying to construct a quadrotor . Iam using 4 1000 kv motors
http://hobbysea.com/products.php?16&cPath=14&sid=kt8v0217nkmgr7itnjs9ib1s76
using a 25-30 amp esc.
http://hobbysea.com/products.php?135&cPath=15&sid=kt8v0217nkmgr7itnjs9ib1s76

when ever i test them individually . the motor esc combination works fine .
But whenever i connect all the four motor's to my KK2 board . One of the four ESC's
blows off .
This has happened about three times

using a 2200 mAh battery .
Please help

What exactly does "blows off" mean ? The motor connected to that ESC goes to full throttle ?

if possible, do a youtube video showing the problem.  you will get many answers to help you for sure.

By blowing up i mean that the ESC's get heated up and then stop working.

Its probably a defect in the ESC's. Contact the shop from where you bought the ESC's from.

Those Hobbyking 25-30 amp ESCs are notorius for sudden failure.  Same thing happened to a friend in California and once with me also.  They are overrated.  Use a watt meter to see how many amps they can handle before the heat buildup.  I still have a couple of the same ESCs but only max them out to about 12 amps with no issues.

I agree with Lance sir... so far I have burnt 2 motors with those stupid escs... I ran a 10a motor on a 18-20a esc and it fried it... it's better to invest in a plush esc or something better.. these cheap ones are not worth the effort
