Title: Q450 First Build & Fly
Post by: bhaveshsangani on May 04, 2015, 08:36:46 AM
Hi,

Bought the Q450 from RCBazaar a week ago. Stock setup except the ESC - went for 30amps.

http://www.rcbazaar.com/product.aspx?productid=2455 (http://www.rcbazaar.com/product.aspx?productid=2455)

Had completed the build in 5 days. Decided to go for a test flight and found it dancing from one end to the other. Motors not cranking up at the same time. Something weird going on. :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:
Patience is the key to this hobby - decided to leave for sometime.

Today decided to re-look into the issue and understand whats wrong.
Problem debugged
1. I had placed the Controller the wrong way
2. Props were not balanced.

Corrected the orientation of the Controller , balanced the prop and decided to give it a try once.

Before the flight I re calibrated the controller.

This is my first quad and 2nd test flight. I am really excited to take it out once I am a little more confident.

Must say for a beginner had quite a steady flight.

Miginstruments : FC is good. Very easy setup. No programming required. I am just a beginner and felt quad is quite much in control. Will spend sometime learning on this FC.

Asu sir waiting to gain a little more confidence.

Hi Bhavesh, Its just the matter of time to get the confidence, you fly it for sometime and after every flight you ll get more confident.

Cool. I recently ordered a Tarot F450 Frame, Sunnysky 980kv Motors, HW Xtor ESC for a 450 size build. I would be putting a Naze32 Acro FC on that. share your learning of the FC. Which board it is based on ? KK / MultiWii ?

Ujjwaana - that's great. Is it your first quad... I was really excited with mine :)
All the best for your build.

I am using a Avionic HexaQuad FC. The setup as said was very simple.

2 step setup. Very good for beginners I would say. All you need to do is Calibrate the Controller and then the TX.
TX calibration - press a small button on the FC
Sensor calibration - Move the throttle stick to extreme top/left.

And one is good to go.

Bhavesh. My second actually. The first 250 size I did not complete as I was weary of starting with a nimble Quad.
Avionic FC is good for beginner. I kind a play with loads of FC like Pixhawk, Dosd, RVOSD and have help from expert Quad fliers like Pravesh, Adarsh and Shadman so went with Naze32.
