hi guys...

i have recvd. a parcel of the X580 quadcopter from a person in this forum.

unfortunately the bloody DTDC ( :banghead: ) guys mishandled the package and one of the arm got damaged.

i need to know what can i do about replacing that arm?

1. can i use a complete round carbon fiber rod from any LHS?
2. should i try to repaird the damaged one?
3. what other option can i exercise?

pic of the arm attached.

1)You may find some difficulty in replacing them with round hollow cf rods, but it should be possible with some modification, otherwise try to find square cf rods. FYI cf rods needs to be handled with care while drilling/cutting, they tend to shatter and also pose a health risk if the fibre particles are inhaled.

2)That can be repaired with a light tap from a hammer wrapped in a piece of cloth, if the arms are not bent along the length.

3)Think you can find those square aluminum tubes in local hardware shops, if you cant find the exact dimensions, then change all four arms with the nearest size available. Or you can use wooden beading, cut them to dimensions and they are cheap.

you can get those alu tubes from local hardware store easily, nothing to worry about!
