hello friends this is my third quad build..
this time building foldable quad
Parts..

5. Turnigy 4S 5000mAh battery - ( from forum member )
6. Turnigy i10 radio - ( www.rcproduct.in (//http://) (//http://) )
7. Servo gimbal - ( www.hobbyking.com (//http://) )
waiting for frame to arrive... :(
used wire mesh guard for neat wiring...
for motors , servo wires and naza BEC.
servo gimbal..
naza led module extension...
works great..

Hey, great start. waiting to see another great flight. Naza is an amazing controller. I just completed my quad and flew it today itself. Awesome flight.
thanx...hmmm naza is great flight controller..
which one you are using lite or v2??
I'm using the naza m lite but upgraded the firmware to V2.
great... using same awesome platform..
dead stable in atti. mode but mine one drifts in GPS mode :'(
are you facing this issue??
No didn't find any drift in GPS mode. Dead stable!! Did you do the compass calibration and then the IMU calibration properly?
yup did many times but facing same...
Hmmm.....was the GPS locking properly? I mean are you getting the 2 green led blinks before flight? Sometimes there are issues with GPS locking, in that case the position hold is not proper!
hmmm i take off after i get two green blink... hope in this built i get rid of this drifting issue..
Yes drifts may be due to various reasons like faulty GPS module, problems in motors or ESCs, disbalanced frames and many others. My suggestions, try to follow the installation steps perfectly and in proper sequence. Specially the calibration parts. Hope for the best. Good luck!
thanx friend...for this build ill keep these perimeters in mind.. :hatsoff:
FPV system.. 5.8GHz
using two cameras..
one for live video feed and other for video recording..
Nice quad 8)
Great build gunnu...but i would advice you to not put the fpv camera on a gimbal if your not planing to save the downlink and not flying LOS...because it will help you judge the actual way your quad is reacting to the wind and the changes the FC is causing through you fpv screen or goggles..
Keep it for a mobiuis or some kind of HD cam
hmmm got your point Himadri Roy... thanx.. ill directly mount fpv cam on frame and recording cam on gimbal..
finally received frame today.... (:|~ (:|~
now assembly begins. ;D
progress.....
further progress.. ;D ;D
final steup...
maiden tomorrow.... (:|~ (:|~ (:|~
AUW is 1.7kg (including 4S 5000mAh battery)
using 1045 porps
looking for 10X3.8 SF props if anyone have and want to sell than plz let me know. :P
Congrats, Prabh ... that's pretty neat build {:)}
thanx sooraj... :hatsoff:
Nice!!!! Will be waiting for the video and The Complete model Image.
Regards,:)
Aman.
sure video will be uploaded today... ;)
alien is ready.. >:D >:D
:)
Looks awesome bro and congrats.
Gunnu where's the flight video?
@jsquadman thanx bro...
@meet2ami actually video is very large 1.5GB will upload after converting it..
regards
Hmmm...we understand....we'll wait.....btw how was the flight experience?
flight experience was good.. quite stable.. but not satisfied with flight time..
8 to 9 mints with 4S battery 5000mAh
weight around 2kg
Hmmm....the weight is killing the flight time! It is the most challenging part, how to increase the flight time in quad! With my config I get hardly around 10-11 mins with a 4S 3200. My quads AUG is around 1600gms with the Nikon camera that also w/o gimbal!
Is it possible to shed some weight? Are you using the flight battery for all other accessories like VTx, LEDs or Gimbal control or a seperate one?
yup i use different 3S 2200mAh battery for lights.. without this battery it weight around 1.7kg.
regards
How much difference does that make in flight time, without extra batteries?
will test today...
Well, difference in weight will effect the flight times by few mins. I guess try to use a smaller and lighter battery, may be Zippy compact or Turnigy nano tech 3S 1200 or 1500 mAh. I guess 1200 or 1500 is enough for your LEDs and other accessories.
i have few NCR18650B batteries... and led working voltage is 7 volts to 12 volts. will give try with two NCR18650B batteries in series and one battery weight around 40g i think.. than two battries will weight 85g with wires and connectors..
what was the cause of drifting in GPS mode ... how it got resolved?
GPS drifting issue resolved after advanced IMU calibration and presicion setting of magnetic-declination of compass..
http://www.magnetic-declination.com/ (http://www.magnetic-declination.com/)
What was done for magnetic-declination.
any place where the inclination values are entered?
no just check the magnetic-declination of your place.. (for an example- concider magnetic-declination of your place is positive+1° 31' than rotate your GPS module in clockwise direction.. and if negative than in counter clockwise direction.)
for better understanding watch this video

alien flying.. (:|~
:)
:) :)
Wow I really like the Images. Nice One Gunnu :)
Regards,
Aman.
thanx aman.. video is uploading... as soon as it complete ill post link here.. :)
hehe the lights looks funny :P
looks like real alien ship ;D ;D
That indeed looks like an alien craft!! Good job! {:)}
BTW did you able to increase the flight timing?
Yup but not too much only 2 mins... :banghead:
Now that's a really cool quad  It looks really good and the build seems really neat too.
Did you have any problem with customs? How much was the shipping?
@gunnu I guess u r using 810 Kv motors right? What size props are you using with 4S? 2kg AUW is a pretty heavy craft. Best way to increase flight time is to use much lower Kv motors (300-600) with larger props (14" - 17") with higher battery like 5S or 6S. This way you can get heavy lift plus more flight time. Ofcourse the expenses also rises alogside. :headscratch:

Did you have any problem with customs? How much was the shipping?
It cost me around 73$ for frame and 17$ shipping (via registered mail) and no customs and take 15 days to arrive...
Regards
@meet2ami I am using 1045 props with 4S battery (970g thrust) auw is 1.7 kg with battery.. (and 2kg with extra 3s battery for lights) in manual mode quad lifts at almost 50% throttle..
Planning to upgrade motors... :)

Not sure upto what size prop your frame gonna support, but with a 15" prop and a 380 KV motor and a 6S lipo, will give you huge lift which gives you a freedom to add lot of stuffs and accessories to your quad as well as around 25 mins of flight time!
finally uploaded..

Well done gunnu! {:)} Great stable flight. Have you tried with the gimbal and camera? What is the total flight duration? Now you have to work on how to extend the flight time!! 8-)
thanx
yup i tested today.. it gives me 16 mint flight time until second protection triggered ( battery was at 16.8 volts and after flight battery was at 14.4 volts)
AUW 2kg..
Well thats not bad at all! Is it just hovering or full length flight? Nyways, 16 min with 2kg AUW is pretty good. Keep it up!
My AUW is around 1600 gms and I get around 9-10 mins with 3300mAh 4S, 9" props.
9 to 10 mints with 3300mAh is pretty nice.. i am too wondering how i get this much flight time? ???
