Title: Quadcopter Lipo selection ????
Post by: RC_DUDE on May 01, 2012, 12:30:44 PM
I finally decided the setup for my 1st quadcopter , the only remaining  problem is of the Lipos . I am not able to decide which one to use and also my budget is really down , so i need to know which one is the best for me from the below given options.

Quadcopter spec:

quad weight -1.2-1.4 Kg
dt700 x 4  with peak current 13 amps
hk ss 18-20amp Esc  x 4

my selection of lipos are these 2 nano-techs  as they hv the right amount of amps , which is required for my
quad ( according to reviews and my own calculations ) . can someone suggest me for if my choice is right .

Turnigy nano-tech 2200mah 3S 45~90C Lipo Pack

stated amp rating  2200 x 45 , 99Amps approx

amp rating  around 90 Amps

or do i need to select other type
i was also thinking of B-Grade Lipos , though the life is for 60 something cycle only , reviews are good , can someone review this .

thank you

You can use any of these 2. Both are good.
Don't use B grade lipo for quad. they are not efficient and reliable.

13A x 4 = 52A say 60A(including losses, over load)
First lipo 99A
Second lipo 91A
So both are good. Just make sure to search if you get light weight equal capicity lipo. More than require lipo will add extra weight.
