Guys flying the phantom 2 with latest version please disable this option if not flying in a open field

Phantom 2 has a new feature now to go home and land once the battery reaches below 20%
This can be a disaster of shooting in a wedding
Auto land is good for clear open grounds
Not for places having trees of people around

yes, i have expereienced it. phantom vision plus starts to return home when low battery. during this phase the phantom does not respond to rc.

the solution is to switch over to att mode and takeover.

even best solution is to lock the gps in open space before flying.

Have been seeing lot phantom users around these days...
TV reporters, Local video graphers etc...
Most of them are of the opinion, They have got the most intelligent equipment in the globe.
on a talk to one of them pretending that 'am a novice who just went to have a look at the killer equipment ('Killer' seems more appropriate :giggle: ) he is having . he explained all it's feature to me, His answer for my question - what will happen if it fails in midair, or it finds it's way home in a crowded place or trees - was most tragic , here is the points from his answer :
'This is by far the best helicam - Intelligent, it will avoid obstructions, and won't harm people, It won't fail in mid air for sure , because, it's a branded and costly product . '

I found there is no use making him understand, anything can't be completely foolproof, and Phantom is not the greatest invention of it's kind .

More over, last time i seen phantom in action is in a district level convention of a political party - the scene was most terrific , 3 Aerial cameras (Phantom, 'course - because it is world's best !) was flying over a crowd of about 50000 peoples .

I don't know why did Dji add  this but it is rather dangerous then useful
@DJI if you guys are reading this
Please keep this option off by default
I just landed my p2 unaware of this and second before the motors would dis arm the p2's battery got below 20%
I was totally unaware if this and also the bystanders who CAME CLOSER TO LOOK AT THE COPTER AND SUDDENLY IT WENT RIGHT UP IN THE AIR !!!!!
no one was hurt the copter landed safely but this is seriously dangerous

equipment is intelligent, but the pilot also needs to be intelligent. when flying in different scenarios you need to understand the area and lookout for options which are safe for you and public.
i have been flying in many events and have had to put all my skill and experience to the best use.

have also met some funny dji pilots who have been flying and the way they fly was terrible. very least knowledge about the equipment.

best about vision is it has live info and i always land when bat is at 30%

Sir imagine all the phantoms that photographers buy suddenly going in the air and before they understand anything or are able to do anything phantom tries to land at its home position and their can be a tree or a fence or group of people standing unaware of the situation
And that at the end will creat another bad reputation for our hobby....

All the damage is already done chintal. The point it, when people like you who are into rc for a long time spend a lot of time to understand this problem and avoid it, others just get into the headlines. Great info anyways. Thanks.
