Arun sir a brief explanation on control theory from a pro like you would help us newbs
Build planes like feathers rather than tanks, both handle bullets equally well.

Neil not at all.. I am also a beginner like you in this field. But i am sure that you can learn a lot of things buy sticking down in this forum.. And many experienced flyers have given many theoretical explanations already, go through it when you gets some time..
And neil cal me arun :p

an amazing video....thanx Arun for sharing...it zaps you with the current trends in science...my whole perspective of a quad has changed.... {:)}

Seen this before, its good but it still needs a room of net sort of stuff fitted on all directions and can only fly inside that area.

arun.sreelakam

Pravesh you are right, those sensors will work perfectly like this only if there are visible patterns in the wall like a net..
still it will work without those paterns but not as efficient as this..
I am pretty sure that this disadvantage can be rectified..
anyhow this is awesome really.. salute

These quads do not use optical flowmeters I think. The nets are there only to protect the spectators. If you watch the other similar videos, you will see that the room has special motion capture cameras all round. These cameras coupled with the small spherical balls fixed on the quads help a computer to accurately know the position and orientation of the quad. Coupled with the information from the IMU onboard the quad, the computers control them through some very complex algorithms :)
It is the pervading law of all things organic and inorganic,
Of all things physical and metaphysical,
Of all things human and all things super-human,
Of all true manifestations of the head,
Of the heart, of the soul,
That the life is recognizable in its expression,
That form ever follows function. This is the law.

Blown away.

Just a point to be noted - our acclaimed Quad Maestro, Ashta Sir, has stopped contributing here. Sad.
Growing old is mandatory, growing up is optional!

arun.sreelakam

Vc sir not really, I contacted him a month before.. he told that he is not getting time right now and he will be starting again in sometime..;D
He is from my place as well palakkad, my first ever rc teacher..
But settled in Bangalore..
