APM 2.8 vs APM2.6 whats the difference and since its Open-Source, same SW applies to both or what ?

Am planning to gt one too.. Since my kk2.1 gt burnt I tot of getting cc3d or apm bt dont knw which 1 to get...

I am upgrading to CC3D, but now confused on the CC3D versions, seems the Revolution platform has RTH, and Mission planning features, but don't know whether the cheaply available CC3D board is actually Revo version.

@Santhosh sir, I was looking at the same deals. It seam it is the olde CC3D wth out GPS Interface or RTH or Waypoint navigation features. Still I am not sure, because I can't find any documentation on how to distinguish b/w Older CC3D and CC3D Revo (Revolution platform) . What I am looking for is Revo Platform.

whats the difference between CC3D and APM ?

APM is a walk in the park!! just install the firmware, look at the motor config. and your up and running!! but after that you have tuning to do, initially taking it up is not difficult, later too but few youtube videos will help!! and you can go for gps!!

but i would not suggest telemtry as the range is very less compared to FPV, so a good option is itelemetry from immersionrc which is cheap and gives the same range as your fpv setup because it uses your FPV for telem. data!!

one more think is the CC3D available with gps and does it support fixed wing??

What does this mean ? I shouldnt get the telemetry kit ?
how much does the immersionRC one cost ?

you see my Talon build is for long range and my radio and FPV gives me more than enough, but my telemetry runs on 900 or 433mhz and just 100mw, which gives me very less range, so first the osd gave me all the info as the actual one, but if i want the data to be displayed on my ipad i can get the itelemetry from hk for around 20$!! but one disadvantage is if you use the itelemetry you cant change the flight parameters like waypoint!!

Also flash the fs9x with er9x and put in a frsky module. Its better for the long run if you are getting into fpv. You dont want all your costly gear getting lost. Even with all failsafes and stuff in apm you should have a solid all around fpv system. Do not compromise.

Its not necessary to upgrade your Tx, but its definitely helpful having more than 6channels. Go for taranis instead of th9x, as you would reap the benefits of spending those extra $ when you get a hang of it with lot more opportunities for mods..If you are going in for FPV, estimate whats the additional payload thats going to be added, and select motors accordingly.

Its not as easy as stated earlier, there are many small things which need to taken care of as you keep building, but if you have already worked with an FC, then its going to be easy to a certain extent.

There is gps/mag,bluetooth,telemetry,power module,ultrasonic sensor, it depends on on what you need out of your copter. Im flying FPV without a telemetry so it depends on what you want

The difference is that they have removed some of the issues that were there 2.6, but I have been using 2.6 without any issues tho yet its better to use the latest version. And yes the same OSS works for APM 2.x

though transis is well beyond my budget so i dont think i can go for it now. hell couldnt even afford a 9xr so settled with the 9x

I think getting the Taranis is the best choice in the long run. It has a stock range of almost 2km and telemetry is very useful for FPV. It will save you the hassle and additional costs of modding your 9x and you had almost mentioned that you don't want to have to solder. The telemetry mod for the 9x is very difficult and involves fine soldering. I hope to get one if I have any family visiting Hong Kong (210$ from HobbyKing).. For me, the 9x has the advantage of being compatible with WLToys helis (which I want to get).

What if i leave telemetry and just rely on the OSD ?

Since th9x is modulable, you have many options to move beyond stock module.
Frsky would be the one to opt for, or you can go with Orange 433mhz modules for long range but I strongly recommend frsky modules. And frsky range of 1-1.5kms is more than enough IMO in a copter specifically  .

You just need a power module, apm 2.x and gps/mag module to get it up and running. Telemetry,osd etc are secondary upgrades which can be carried on later as you move ahead and not necessary in the beginning. Telemetry gives you alternate control for APM  as compared to OSD which only overlays data in FPV feed.

FYI: frsky two way module has inbuilt audible alarm which begins squeaking when you are moving out of range.
