For a while I've been building, testing and tuning this drone with the goal of improving my TX signal and VTX range. Finally I felt confident enough with the setup to attempt a flight up the mountain behind my house.

It's not the most amazing run, but excited with the accomplishment and wanted to share my flight video! Looking forward to hiking this spring with drones.

The Basic Setup:
- Flight Controller: Matek F405-CTR
- VTX: Matek Mini 800mw
- GPS Module: iFlight GPS Modul
- Motors: XING-E 2306 2450KV
- Radio Receiver: TBS Crossfire Nano RX
- Receiver Antenna: TBS Crossfire Immortal T V2 Antenna
- VTX Antenna: SpiroNET Omni – 5.8GHz CP Antenna

If you have any questions about the setup or flight let me know.
Cheers,
-Pete

@GiantAntCowboy,

Of course it's a success!

But what I learnt from the video is that Norway is a beautiful country, but too cold for us Indians!

Best wishes

Which camera you had onboard?

It certainly is beautiful, I moved here from the US a few years ago and have been enjoying the open space and beautiful nature for RC flight hobbies. Can't wait take these FPV quads on some real adventures this spring!

The footage was shot with a GoPro 8 Black at 2.7k; however YouTube compression really ruins some of the shots. I tried all sort of things to fix the issue, but it is what it is...

Still looks very beautiful man.

When you were cruising thru the road at low level, (You 2X the video I think) but in that moment I was like "something should not appear out of no where". :p

GiantAntCowboy

Thanks! Most the video is at 2x speed, but the road part is actually at normal speed to show off the actual flying speed. Pretty cool and fun to be skimming the ground at 70km/h!

I actually had a spotter on the road and knew nothing would suddenly appear.  ;D

Two days later winter came back, here a quick highlight video of some long range/freestyle practice.

"Put it over the mountain" and you might not see it again... here's a recent trip where I flew too far over a mountain and completely lost all signal! :o

I'm continuing to improve in various skills, great hobby!
