Please share your opinion on the dt750s. If you haven't already used loctite/other threadlocker on the grub screws of the motor's mounts, please use that.
Also, when I go flying, a small bad-landing (or even a soft landing) makes some small particles of sand to go into the motor (occassionally). This is because they're bell-type. Sometimes, the ferrous-containing sand-particles go in betweeen the magnets and wouldn't come out!

A very neat build. :)

Very true, i have lost one of my motor (http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__5685__Turnigy_2205_50turn_1088kv_8A_Outrunner.html) due to this reason :(
But i think this problem can beat most of the motors. You will find some open space in any motor for even a smallest of particle to enter. But bro as you have used this on your quad suggest something as i am planning to use this for my quad as well and what do you mean by

Quick correction sir. If black prop is front side, you have mouted board in wrong direction. Button side of kk2 is back and gyro side is front.
EDIT
It looks like green props make forward triangle for easy orientation, sorry for it.

raja_mastana

@satyagupta
Got the props from rcelectro, rest everything from HK
Loctite is a liquid used on metal screws/nuts so they dont become loose due to vibrations.

@hyd_quads
Looks like one of the DT750s I received is having a problem, it is getting hot while the other three are not. If I am able to get in the air, would definitely share my opinion on them. Thanks for the tip on dust entering motors, will keep that in mind when flying.

@Dharmik
I have made that correction. Now, black prop is front and others are green.

Still trying to understand the various settings of the KK2 board, a long way to go ....

BTW yesterday i did ESC calibration with the props on  and you know what happened >:D

i am planning to use this for my quad as well [dt700/750s]
I can only assume you're kidding.
btw, Why is it only me who hates dt700s/750s while everyone is happy with them?
I've ordered four dt700s twice, and I am not happy with them yet. This is only my personal opinion: I mainly don't like it's physical build/structure.
Longer the shaft, more the vibrations. You can see that any premium *multi-rotor* motors have short shafts (Avroto, some sunnysky motors). Cutting the shaft is not a problem, but you need dremel, etc. and you need to do with care so that the vibrations caused during cutting don't further weaken the motor's build.
And the bell-type structure, as I said.
The max. wattage of the motor is quite low, at that price. The Max. rating (acc. HK) is 13A @ 11.1V, ie JUST ~140A. Take the NTM motors for example. They're around 265~315W at a small extra cost.

Pls note this post is not meant to demoralise raja_mastana. :)

What are these and why do we need them?? [loctite]
yes, as answered by raja_mastana, threadlocker (a popular brand is loctite) is used to fasten screws in their place, almost permanently.

I don't mean to question your experience, but did you notice that the shafts of dt750s protrude (by a fraction of a mm.) below the motor?
In my scratch-build, that protrusion was rubbing against the arm and causing a lot of friction => Hot motor and ESC.
But you might wonder that if this was the case, why only one motor is getting hot. In my quad, only two motors had this protrusion, but not the other two.
Also, I noticed that I needed to push-in the C-clip of my motors periodically.

Yes, please share your opinion on the motors, that would be of great help to everyone. :)

Hmm, good point - I did not think of it that way. I was under the impression that heating may be caused by some incorrect settings in the kk2 board.
Thanks for the tip - will check it out.

You're welcome.
Also, check the ESC timings. A high timing (or low?) also causes the motor to heat up. I don't know much about it though.

Vineet

raja_mastana

Yes, high timing is also causes motor to heat up. But I don think that can be an issue here since all 4 have the default of low. Will confirm it tonite though
