if 2.4 is such a good radio system why do people recommend you not to use 2.4 on boats

It has to do with how the waves bounce off of the surface of the water.

And what if I exstend the rx anthena and bring it to the out side of the boat

Not sure if that would work. I'd wait for people more qualified than I on this subject to respond.
