My brother got a Model Airplane magazine for his inflight reading, and going through it, I saw the Airtronics/Sanwa SD-5G and SD-6G entry level radios advertised promptly.

RCDhamaka mentioned they are going to release it in India soon (http://www.rcindia.org/rc-outlets-and-resellers/lhs-issue/msg17242/#msg17242), but not news even after 4 months :headscratch:

They would have been good entry level radios which can be safely suggested for beginners !

Any idea how these (SD-5G and SD-6G) will be priced in India?

To increase thrust you need more  money! But to reduce weight you  need nothing!

That was the understanding, good to hear the confirmation.  Any idea when it would be available ?

If they can  crack FASST, FHSS is easier! maybe lack of interest /ROI  ;)

ya without a clone receiver we might end up paying 50% of the radio cost for an extra original receiver

by the way how much are you planning to price the extra receivers for

FASST is nothing but the short form of Futaba Advanced Spread Spectrum Technology a brand name created by Futaba, it is FHSS as per FCC if i can recollect correctly of hand.

Also note that all manufacturers are moving towards FHSS - JR and now Futaba ( though initially with their new lower end systems). Sanwa was the one of the 1st to enter FHSS. Sanwa too had the DSSS version also, but now sell it in only a couple of markets with couple of models only. Hitec is also FHSS.

The only difference between the technologies mainly is how the frequency hops (no of ch it jumps etc, etc) all of them are basically FHSS.

More the merrier is what i would like to see in the end ;)
