AEROVISHWA

just got my RCB 7X and plugged it up right away.....

firstly some features which were missed on the site and the description...

Features
model type : heli, plane
8 alpha-numeric naming for the model
7 model memory
wing type mixing ( flaperon, v-tail, delta)
input selection for gear, flap and aux channel,
wireless trainer function
individual channel assignment( can interchange channel as required
mode selection ( can be changed into MODE 1,2,3,4- may have to interchange the ratchet inside for the throttle hope fully they can do it for you on request)
throttle recovery function
dual rates and exponential on ele, ali, rud. with individual switch for each of them.
timer (chrono and stopwatch for timing flight)
6 different user required programmable mixing
throttle idle and throttle hold function for heli, and planes ( incase u wanna avoid powering up of your motor by mistake)
differential function for flaprons
flap throw setting
ali-rud mixing
ele- flap  mixing
travel adjust.( EPA- end point adjustments)
sub trims
reversing
adjustable stick lengths
wireless simulator dongle and software included
comes with a 8 cell battery holder pre-soldered with connector... no more soldering of NiCd/NiMH required

some more ( personal likes)
throttle has 34 ratchet locks or clicks unlike futaba/JR which have 24 hence smoother travel
tone changes as u add trims.. as u exceed it increases tone and reduce the tone reduces.
u can see the trimming and input of the channels
looks good.
adjustable stick lengths

some down sides. ( very few and to be corrected. but not much)
antenna has only 180 degree travel around.. and it is on the backside instead of front (a unique feature)
had some trouble in the aliron trimming switch for some time... needs a bit force in beginning to work  still a bit harsh
little bad packing. the stick was protruding out of the box.. was lucky... any one might receive a piece with a damaged stick( or pot or bracket may be)
the neck strap buckle is high on top... will need a balancer to use a neck strap properly. ( then the switch will come below the balancer )
no protective film on the LCD. and the LCD is a bit dim.. may be trouble to read in broad sunlight and even small font( may be i am used to the big futaba ones)
charger not included. it may work with std futaba charger with a 9.6V o/p

on a lighter note.
i was expecting a RCBAZAAR neck strap along with the Tx.

and please get multiple receivers in store along with Tx lipo....

will add more once i find time and put the manual CD in the PC  and read the manual if it has any added function.
more detailed usage and performance report to be added later. or once i go flying

Looks like it's got everything, kitchen sink & commode included  ;D

Dharmik

Very nice and honest review mate.

AEROVISHWA

some mod required in the manual...

required input should be 8 NiMH ( as in the holder u supplied) shows 7 in the manual
under battery box and replacement...it says 4 alkaline batteries.. it should be 8

what else could have been added
the pitch curve in acro mode. specially for people in 3d
a thermocole case inside for the Tx (inside the box)
custom firmware.. with the RCB name on it.

am i asking too much

What do you mean by "tune changes as u add trims.. as u exceed it increases tone and reduce the tone reduces." ? :)

AEROVISHWA

was suppose to be tone changes...

u got to try on your self.. u can understand... the tone gets sharper as u more up while trimming and on a lower note when u reduce the trim...

Thanks for clarifying. I will have a look when i visit the store :)
My 9x too has only 180 deg of antenna rotation. Are there radios with more than 180 deg rotation?

AEROVISHWA

9X and all  other 2.4 have 180 degree rotation... but thee thing is that it is in the forward direction... it can point towards you. this turns the other way around.  which is actually good it u are doing FPV

Can the timer be throttle activated (i.e. timer increments WHENEVER the throttle is above a set level, like more than 15%) ?  That is one feature that I use every time I setup a new model.  This is much better than a throttle that keeps continually incrementing, even if there is a delay in take-off etc.

anwar bhai...i have not checked that yet... waiting for their Tx lipo to come in stock... then i can check all the features in detail..

to  add one more positive point... they have their spare  receiver in stock.. which costs only  :Rs: 780

some more points added as i am still experimenting with it...!

it come along with only 2 sim software viz. FMS and Real Flight G4...

but if u swap the dongle with something like this...
http://www.rcbazaar.com/products/810-avionic-12-in1-integrated-simulator.aspx

and u can have all the sims u want... inc phoenix and all other.

also they got the 2200Mah lipo.. for the Tx. costs around 980... cheaper than the NiCds( good brand like eveready cost around 250 for a pack of 2.. u need 4 packs..making it 1K with only 700Mah capacity or 2100Mah )

Eveready rechargable NiMh battery cost Rs.400 for a set of 4 700mAh batteries + charger as far as i know.

Link here shows the same at Rs.375

Dont know about NiCad's though :)

AEROVISHWA

may be it cost me a 50 bucks extra for a 2100 pack....  :banghead: :banghead:

there are a lot of down sides to this RADIO.... sorting it one at a time... dont want to come out wrong...

will post once all is settled in...

Hi Guys,

Fly sky 9 ch or RCBX? In terms of reliability of signal strength & range in mtrs?
Kindly guide me.

mhkabir98

Two questions,

Does it have a PPM sum output on the receiver and is it possible to set up a throttle failsafe? Both of these are extremely important for my application so if anyone has any idea.....?

i was wondering, this radio is it ok to invest for a newbie like me to start up with the hobby... :headscratch: :headscratch:

Note: when i say newbie i am a total novice when it comes to rc world. ;)

i will appreciate ur suggestions.  thanks in advance

In my view a radio for a newbie is entirely depends on their budget.. The RCB7x is a fantastic radio with respect to their price and features.. Those who are seriously in to this hobby can Spent some extra bugs to get this more than FSCT6B..
As you are a beginner You need to practice in simulator Which is included in this Deal already.
Overall This is a good radio for this price and suitable for beginners..
Always depends on the budget as well...

Comparison of RCB7X with Spektrum DX6i

Nice video, but few things which i didn't got it from the review

1. the receiver can't go more than 6v, so only suitable for the park flyers and not the big models as stated in video?
2. the receiver doesn't fits into 450 heli which is a common size heli, so radio more for airplane then the heli's ?
3. there were few basic feature compared in start, but later the video was more about the product review of RCB 7x rather than comparison of both radio's.

it shall be helpful if the list of items or chart can be posted with the difference of features between DX6i/DX7 and RCB 7x , as that shall be more clear for members.

Shannon

No sir its not that the reciever does not fit its tht i wanted the reciever to go into the frame as the fbl gyro and the esc already tookuo space on both the sides of the heli and i did not mount the gyro on the top cause of vibes on heli as any gyrobis very sensitive so there is no problem with the reciever fiting on either side if u mounting gyro on top of tail boom hilder ...another thing was that not everybody runs a high voltage setup to go beyond 6v ...i had setup my heli for a hv setup of 7.4v cause my servos neede the voltage .....as i did state that is all personal preference and not a con ....it does fit on a 450 but wont fit if u plan on putting it vetween the heli frame sorry its not mentioned and all normal servos run on 4.5 to 6volts so  reciever has no problem upto 6v only special high voltage servos require 6v+... Another thing was that so many feature in the rcb7x tht is not available in my dx6i so i should have somethign to compare it too it has lil more features than dx7 also ..and the price is just awesome 4.5k if rcb was available 3yrs ago i would have not bouth a spectrum dx6i for sure

The dx6i is left in the dirt by rcb7x ....the spectrum dx7 is no way close when in comes to price plus feature like channel assignment is not available in dx7 so is wireless trainer ....but then again things become crystal clear u can spend 22k on a spectrum or get something with a little bit more for 1/4 the price ...... :giggle:
