Title: Batteries for transmitter
Post by: Aeroempire on January 07, 2014, 10:23:58 PM
Hello everyone,
I'm using hobbyking transmitter and finding the normal aa batteries getting discharge soon. Need some expert advise on which battery to use for tx. Some of the batteries I'm having are:
1. Flight max compact battery 1000mah 3S ( very compact fits in the case )
2. Nimh flat battery pack 5 cell 2200 turnigy, 6 volts.

I think both the batteries are not suitable.  The lipo 3s batteries needs to be of max 5c dicharge rate. It is specifically made for tx applications. The nimh battery will not fit the case and is not suitable as the min voltage must be 9v.

You need to look for suitable batteries that fit and rated for tx applications,

Regards
Asupan

You can go for the Lipo, always use Dean or XT connectors to avoid reverse polarity.
Ive once used a Zippy 1000mah 25c flightmaz 3s with Flysky and no problems, except i cant fit those inside the case so ive bought 8xAA nimh batteries Godrej power GP batteries and find no issues so far.

Try this. Several weekends without needing to recharge.
Got from Adiboy. Ask him if he has one.

Second pic is my original battery. Still working after 7 years!
Only now it needs charging after each flying day. Never been taken below 10v

I use a Hitec Optic 6 2.4 Ghz with telemetry. I use both Hitec receivers and the HK clones (made by FrSky)

The range in either case is beyond normal sight; dead reliable. Never had a problem, either of range or binding or anything
