hello folks... looking for some guidance and suggestions on antenna
specially the rubber duck antenna
those antennas are quater wavelength upto my knoweledge.(pls correct me if i am wrong)
so if use a 2.4ghz antenna on a 5.8ghz device essentially i am using half wave antenna... will it work??
Thanks & Regards

5.8 is not a multiple of 2.4, 4.8 is. Antenna tuned for 2.4GHz may still work on 5.8GHz(but not necessarily effectively), given that there is absolutely no signal interference from the dominant 2.4GHz and its harmonics.
But converting a 2.4GHz antenna to 5.8GHz one is fairly simple if you can cut open the outer rubber part of it. The exposed part at the very end is what defines the frequency.
In a 2.4GHz one, the exposed part will be of length ~31mm. Cut it down to ~1.3mm and we now have a 5.8GHz antenna:)
