Guys!
I have a Starmax, 4 channel transmitter holding a 72mhz frequency.
It has 2 holes, one on the side( I am assuming this one's for the charger) and one behind(what is this one for?)
Please, appreciate any help in attaching a simulator cable or a simple hack!
If needed, will open it up and post pictures of the insides too..

I could be wrong but that looks more like a Trainer Cord jack.
Growing old is mandatory, growing up is optional!

Looks like the one on the back will take a mono-style audio cable (like the JR/Spektrum ones).

You can go the SmartProPlus/PPJoy route it seems :)

That's what I am thinking VC.
I sold off my simulator long time back and there's a used one for sale here, dunno if I can buy that, I really need one badly!
Maybe I can buy it now and then sell it off in December!
Will there be any takers ?

Every radio I came across so far uses the same jack for trainer cords AND simulator cables !

Aha! Anwar..help me on this!
this is what I have on my system. Need to know if the cables I get will be compatible with the s/w's ?
and will I be able to use the Tx as a sim?

Just get a mono audio cable, that seems to be the only thing you need in terms of hardware.  I have read that stereo cables also work, but mono is the original requirement.

I would request someone who has done this recently (Dileep Balan?) to help Dorwin via PM ;)

Ok guys,
I managed to get a mono jack for my transmitter, it fits perfectly into the transmitter and the microphone jack on my laptop.
The thing is I also have SmartProPlus/PPJoy, I got FMS, Areofly, Realflight G5, RC Simulator, pheonix RC
but the catch is, how do I configure??

Try this site. I used it long back with my Hitec radio, laptop and FMS. I am not sure if it will work with Realflight..

Here is the link to work with smartpropoplus and ppjoy http://www.smartpropoplus.com/dnn/SetUp/tabid/56/Default.aspx
FMS installation is described in bottom of above link.
In aerofly you will get new controller option in control menu, select it, calibrate and fly.
It will not work with realflight G5. Not sure about phoenix also.

Thank you Manoj and Spitfire!!
I actually have all that already installed on my laptop.
What is happening is:
After connecting my through the mono jack "mic in" on the laptop and the trainer jack on my Tx
I open the SPP Console, then once that is done, to cross check I open the Audio thermometer from the Smart Propo Plus Utilities.
Once the thermometer is up, it gives me a signal, but it does not say "PPM" instead, it shows a "?" and a occasional "SERVO".
Then I open the Winscope application and, here too, the signal does not show up.
Lastly, upon opening FMS, I point to CONTROLLER > ANALOG > Select Genric thing > Calibrate > and it sometimes gives me signals and sometimes does not.
I don't know where I am going wrong.
Please! would appreciate some in depth walk through on this issue I've been facing..
Someone with similar problems, who overcame??

Manoj and Spitfire, really appreciate your concern, even though I have all that!!

Thanks in advance guys, and maybe a girl or two ;D
